Thick potions (brewable with the addition of glowstone dust) and mundane potions (brewable with the addition of one of several different ingredients including redstone) are essentially useless.

A fermented spider eye can be added to a water bottle, thick potion, or mundane potion to create a potion of weakness.

This is the only potion with an effect that can be created with a single ingredient. A potion of poison requires the addition of a spider eye to an awkward potion in order to brew.

The potion of fire resistance is brewed by adding a magma cream to an awkward potion. This potion lasts three minutes and protects the player from taking damage from fire, lava, or blaze attacks. Besides being dropped from magma cubes, magma cream can also be crafted. All that is needed is one slimeball and one blaze powder.

Splash potions are created by adding gunpowder to any potion in a brewing stand. Splash potions are thrown to disperse their effect within a four block radius. These potions can also be fired from a dispenser. Players receive effects faster through a splash potion than by drinking an ordinary potion. Splash potions are also both shareable between friends and can be thrown at enemies.

A potion of strength increases melee damage dealt for three minutes and is brewed by adding blaze powder to an awkward potion.

Answer: The potion was corrupted by adding a fermented spider eye.

Adding a fermented spider eye to a potion will corrupt its effect. This often means the potion's effects will be reversed or turn negative. For example, a potion of swiftness converts to a potion of slowness and a potion of night vision converts to a potion of invisibility.

A fermented spider eye is crafted with one sugar, one brown mushroom, and one spider eye. Potions do not expire, brown sugar does not exist in the game, and glowstone dust increases a potion's level when added.

Answer: Golden carrot

A golden carrot is crafted by surrounding a carrot with eight gold nuggets. A golden carrot is added to an awkward potion to create a potion of night vision. This potion allows the player to see at max light levels for three minutes. Warning! Even though it appears light when this potion is applied, hostile mobs still spawn.

This potion is also particularly useful for exploring darker regions such as the Nether and underwater.

A potion of water breathing is brewed by adding a pufferfish to an awkward potion. The original potion lasts three minutes, while the extended version lasts eight minutes with the addition of redstone. The potion allows the player to explore underwater without depleting their oxygen bar. Most potions can be extended by adding redstone. Additionally, many potions can be increased to level II with better effects by adding glowstone dust.

Answer: Potion of harming

A potion of harming can be brewed through the corruption (the addition of a fermented spider eye) of a potion of healing. This potion causes three hearts to be lost instantly. A witch will throw splash potions offensively to harm her opponent and drink potions defensively to aid herself in battle. If a witch is killed while drinking a potion, she has a chance to drop that potion.

A witch can also drop other useful potion brewing ingredients such as glass bottles, glowstone dust, gunpowder, redstone, spider eyes, and sugar.

Answer: Potion of water breathing

As a player will not be underwater when fighting the Ender Dragon, the potion of water breathing is unlikely to be helpful. However, the other three potions will be very useful for defeating the Ender Dragon. The potion of swiftness will aid players when dodging attacks and the potions of healing and regeneration will help players quickly regain lost health.

Increasing the duration and level of these potions is also strongly recommended. Additionally, the Ender Dragon is useful for creating another type of potion called lingering potions. Using a glass bottle near the Ender Dragon's breath attack will give the player an item called dragon's breath.

This ingredient can be added to a splash potion to create a lingering potion. When used, a lingering potion creates a bubble with status effects that lasts thirty seconds and effects any player that walks through it.
