Another answer involves Menuhin's performance of Edward Elgar's Violin Concerto (B minor, Op. 61).

Supposedly one of Abbey Road's first recordings by

the young Yehudi Menuhin. The recording was made at EMI's Abbey Road Studio 1 in June 1932 and has remained in print on 78, LP and CD ever since.

Perhaps Abbey Road's defining recording, this finds the 13-year-old Menuhin under the composer's baton for what remains one of the great interpretations of the Concerto.

Supposedly the first combination of Western and Eastern classical music took place at Abbey Road Studios. In July 1966, Yehudi Menuhin and Ravi Shankar played together there.

These two streams of thought and expression were brought together in the seminal 1967 album East Meets West (also referred to as West Meets East), a collaboration between these two experimental musical minds.
