The aye-aye is the world's largest nocturnal primate.
By tapping on branches and tree trunks with its skeletal middle finger, the aye-aye is able to detect wood-boring grubs. Using that same digit, it can then catch the grubs.
Aye-ayes also have sensitive ears like bats. These help it hear the hollow areas of trees that contain grubs, in response to the tapping.
