The Striezelmarkt was first recorded in 1434 as a one-day market event to sell meat for Christmas meals. The name Strietzelmarkt is derived from a "stollen" which is a type of cake. Today, the market continues over 500 years later with over 3 million visitors each year. Probly slightly more than the first few years, I would guess...
