Which country do Venetian blinds come from?

Venetian blinds were invented in the 1700s in Persia (now Iran). At this time they were made of wooden plates approximately 50mm / 2 In wide placed together horizontally. The strips were tied together with cloth ribbons. Venetian blinds were patented in 1769 by Englishman Edward Bevan.
