Why are priests commonly called "Father" despite the Bible advising otherwise?

When Catholics call priests "Father," they are not contradicting Jesus' teaching in Matthew 23:9 but following biblical and historical tradition. The term recognizes the priest's role in leading the faithful to God, much like Paul described himself as a spiritual father to the Corinthians.
