"Jesus wept" is a phrase famous for being the shortest verse in the Christian New Testament according to the division of chapters and verses of the Bible. It is found in the Gospel of John, Chapter 11, verse 35.
Depending on what language you're reading. In the original Hebrew, the shortest verse in the Old Testament is "Lo tirtzach" (translated as "Thou shalt not murder"), with six letters (two words). Since most Bibles print Exodus 20 in what Jews call "ta'am tachton" with a different distribution of verses, the shortest then becomes "Adam, Seth, Enosh" (9 letters, three words) found in 1 Chronicles 1:1.

Job 3:2 is not a full sentence - it's the beginning of a longer sentence. And John 11:35 is actually three words in Greek. The shortest full sentence in the Bible is 1 Thessalonians 5:16 - only two words.
John asked for shortest 'verse' not sentence. Anyway, the Bible wasn't divided into the modern chapter and verse until the 15th-16th centuries. There are different numbers of these, and different numbers of books too depending on whether it is a Jewish or Christian publication, and in the case of the latter it varies for different branches of the religion. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapters_and_verses_of_the_Bible Which translation is referred to can affect matters as well.
Luke 20:30 "and the second" is 3 words (12 letters) in Greek.
I Thessalonians 5:16 "Rejoice evermore" is 2 words (14 letters) in Greek
Job 3:2 "He spoke," is 3 words (14 letters) in Hebrew
John 11:35 "Jesus wept" is 3 words (14 letters) in Greek.
REJOICE EVERMORE wins for fewest words BUT
AND THE SECOND wins for fewest letters
