The shortest road name (name, not number) in the UK that I've found so far is A.B. Row in Birmingham. Is there a shorter one (Avenue and Street etcetera not Ave and St etc)?

Question #96844. Asked by Baloo55th.

Baloo, I managed to find N Row in London. At least that is what it shows on google maps.

BTW AB Row in Birmingham was originally the boundary between Aston and Birmingham. Hence the name.

Nice one. Ta. [heads off to look for London A-Z]
[comes back with A-Z] Sorry, it's North Row according to Philips. Google also list an N Row in Magor, but that's also North

Thanks for the A.B. info, anyway.

I've now found one that possibly counts as shorter than A.B. Row. That has five letters, but two stops as well. I passed a road in a district of Huddersfield the other day and couldn't believe what I thought the name plate said. Eventually found my West Yorkshire Street Guide and I was right. It did say Solid. OK, anyone know why a little side road should be called Solid? Not Solid Place or Road. Just Solid.

"A B Row" contains no full stops - but does have 2 spaces! Maybe the shortest streetname with the most name parts!

BUT - the street's under threat!

Nice work there! 'Hide' could come from 'hithe' or the land measurement, but no-one's yet explained 'Solid'....
