Subject: SyFy channel awful movies

I can't find the thread about the abysmal movies on the SyFy channel. But I have a new contender!

"Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies"

Here's the blurb for the movie:

"While the Civil War rages, President Abraham Lincoln undertakes an even tougher task -- destroying the Confederate walking dead."

Except it's Union soldiers and civilians that are also zombies. How the zombies came to be is never explained. The opening scene shows a wounded man talking to a young boy inside a bedroom. "I can't do it," the father says. "You must do it, son." then dear old dad dies.

The scene shifts to a woman tied to a bed, obviously a zombie. The son tells her he loves her than cuts her head off with a scythe.

The scene shifts to the White House. The date is given and the scene moves inside. We see a piece of paper with a title heading referring to the dedication of the Gettysburg memorial. Those are the only words on the paper.

Who wants to know mor before this mercifully exits my brain?

Where did Abraham Lincoln get the fold up scythe from that he just happens to carry in his carriage?

I watched Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter which was a fairly good movie,as far as it goes, incorporating slave owners as vampires.
I liked it, it was fun and action packed.
But when the above mentioned movie was shown, I watched about 5 minutes of this dreck before I turned it off.
Gawd, it was awful, and trust me I've seen some bad movies over the years.this was in a category all by itself.

And, yet, it had a logic to it. Granted, a logic that required a heck of a lot of coincidences and it deviated quite a bit from the history books ...

But then, wouldn't zombies in the American Civil War be kept out of the history books?

It did have a nifty surprise ending.

Maybe this will be the topic of my first quiz ....

If this is the same movie I'm thinking of, didn't they continually fire muskets without reloading? There are some good movies on SyFy, though, even though this isn't one of them.

Possibly. I wasn't watching closely. They did use pistols a lot. And Abe's fold up scythe.

Some of the flicks are so campy, they are enjoyable to watch in that they require little to no thought. You know when you have the tube on just for the noise factor, but don't want to watch anything without a plot at all (like reality TV).

No love seen for the cinematic masterpiece "Sharknado". Seriously the old Saturday afternoon Kung Fu movies has better acting.
