While working on scrubbing the steps, one of the girls slid down the banister and several of the girls landed in a heap at the bottom of the stairs.

Oliver had just met Annie when he told Grace to take her back to the orphanage. Oliver had assumed Grace would get an orphan that was a boy. Grace said Oliver didn't say anything about getting a boy so she got a girl. Annie spoke up and said she thought getting an orphan for a week was a great idea. She told Mr. Warbucks she approved even if he was just doing it for his image. Oliver seemed a little taken by Annie at that point. He walked away and Grace asked if they could please keep her. Oliver replied, "Whatever", and continued walking. Grace turned back and smiled at Annie because she was able to stay.

This exchange was the first of many between Oliver and Annie. It was clear Oliver was impressed with the red headed orphan. I believe this was an important scene because Annie started to win Oliver over very early on.

We briefly see Rooster and Lily peek through the window while Miss Hannigan is singing, sitting on the bathtub. Then when Miss Hannigan finishes singing "Little Girls" suddenly Rooster and Lily appear and Miss Hannigan screams. He is wearing a brown shirt, blue suit and hat and white tie. Lily is wearing a purple dress and hat.

Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks is a character in the beloved movie Annie. He is a billionaire businessman who takes in the orphan Annie during the Great Depression. Despite his gruff exterior, Warbucks has a soft spot for Annie and eventually grows to love her as his own daughter. In the original Broadway production of Annie, Warbucks' first name was never revealed. However, in the 1999 made-for-TV movie adaptation, his first name was changed to Oliver. This change was made to give the character more depth and backstory. Interestingly, the character of Warbucks was based on real-life billionaire Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks, who was a friend of Annie creator Harold Gray.

Oliver Warbucks does not appear in this movie. He has been replaced with Will Stacks, a successful cell phone salesman who wants to run for mayor. At first, his mayoral campaign is a disaster. However, he becomes more popular after saving Annie from being hit by a truck. His assistants, Guy and Grace, suggest that he invite Annie to come live with him. He reluctantly does so and Annie, desperate to get away from Miss Hannigan, says that Will can keep her as long as he likes. It doesn't go very well at first because Will, despite being polite to Annie, doesn't like her cooking. However, as the movie progresses, Will changes. He starts to care less about becoming mayor and more about becoming Annie's adopted father. At one point in the movie, he tells Guy that he will do whatever it takes to become mayor. He ends up regretting that he told Guy that. It leads to Guy doing something terrible to Annie, which leads to Will having to drop out of the mayoral race to take care of Annie, and to prove his innocence to Annie.

Answer: Never tell a lie

When the cop returns Annie to the orphanage, Miss Hannigan asks her if she's glad that she's back. Annie says "Yes." Miss Hannigan angrily calls her a liar and asks her what is the one thing she taught her. Annie says "Never tell a lie." Teaching Annie this lesson comes back to bite Miss Hannigan at the end of the movie.

"Sign" is a song that appears when Daddy Warbucks comes to the orphanage wanting to adopt Annie. Miss Hannigan doesn't want Daddy Warbucks to get Annie, so she tries to seduce him. He says that she will "Rot in jail" if she doesn't sign the adoption papers. So she signs them after saying "Why didn't you say so in the first place?" even though he said "Sign" dozens of times.

During the song, Miss Hannigan says that she wants to run her fingers through Daddy Warbucks' hair. Apparently she does not notice that he has no hair.

The girls went from cleaning the stairs to washing the windows. They ended up in the sewing room where tables set with Singer sewing machines on them. Some of the girls sat down to sew while others danced in the room.

Oliver had just returned home from a business trip. He asked if the painting had arrived yet. Grace confirmed it had indeed arrived and was already opened waiting Oliver's approval Oliver had the men hold the painting up so he could view it better. He stood there looking at it for a few seconds. He loudly declared he did not like it and said send it back. A few moments later, Oliver would change his mind about the painting. He said there was something about her smile. He instructed the men to hang the Mona Lisa in bathroom.

This Leonardo Da Vinci masterpiece was a commissioned piece. The portrait was commissioned by the husband of Lisa del Giocondo. She was an Italian nobleman. For as long as I can recall, there has always been some controversy about her smile or lack of it. In my humble opinion, Oliver was correct in keeping the painting.

Like in other versions of "Annie", the 2014 version has a mean tyrant named Miss Hannigan running the foster home. Unlike other versions of "Annie", her first name isn't Agatha. In this one it's Colleen. Also unlike other versions of "Annie", this version gives us more of Miss Hannigan's back story. She was a famous singer in the 1990s. Then, her career ended and she became bitter and she drank a lot of alcohol. She takes her anger out on the orphans, making them do chores and telling them never to get their hopes up, telling them that what happened to her will happen to them. At one point in the movie, she and Guy arrange for Annie's parents to be kidnapped. However, Lou has a crush on her. He and Will help Miss Hannigan change and become a good person. She then tells Will about the kidnapping and helps stop the kidnappers. At the end of the movie, she adds comedy to the last 2 songs in the movie.

Rooster and Lily do not exist in this version of "Annie".

After Mr. Warbucks gets to know Annie, he decides he wants to adopt Annie. He sings this song to try to convince her to be okay with that. He sings that he became rich and famous, but he wasn't completely happy. He wanted someone to share it with, and that turned out to be Annie. Annie initially wanted to be with her real parents, but she decided that if she couldn't have them, she'd like to be adopted by Mr. Warbucks. Mr. Warbucks tries to find Annie's parents, but then he finds out that they died. That's when Annie agrees to be adopted by him under the name "Bennett-Warbucks."

This song could be considered the prequel to "I Don't Need Anything But You," a duet that Mr. Warbucks and Annie sing together about how they come from very different economic backgrounds, but that doesn't matter because the only thing they really need to be happy is each other. This song is in the Broadway Musical, but the only one of the movies it appeared in is the 1999 movie.

After Miss Hannigan is awakened late at night by Annie singing "Maybe," she punishes all the orphans by telling them to clean the building until it shines like the top of the Chrysler Building. Later in the story, Annie tells Daddy Warbucks that Miss Hannigan never lets the orphans leave the orphanage, so we never learn exactly HOW Miss Hannigan thought the orphans would know what the Chrysler Building looks like. Molly repeats Miss Hannigan's "Chrysler Building" comment in a mocking imitation while the orphans are cleaning the building and singing "It's the Hard Knock Life."
