Annie really laid it on thick when she was trying to get Oliver to take her to the movies. She told him she had never been to a movie before. Annie would go even further and say her friend Pepper had claimed to have been to a movie. She would also state that Pepper lied a great deal so it may not be true. Annie would go on to say it was okay that Oliver didn't take her to the movie because then she would never know what she was missing. Annie was granted her wish when Oliver told Grace to buy out the 8 o'clock show at Radio City Music Hall.

Annie, Oliver, Sandy and Grace would see the film, Camille starring Greta Garbo and Robert Taylor. Grace was actively crying while Oliver had this perplexed look on his face at the end of the film. Annie fell asleep during the film. Grace and Oliver would both put a sleeping Annie to bed after the arrived home from the movies.

Miss Farrell says "That was a wonderful evening you gave her last night, sir, just wonderful!" Miss Farrell is nervously trying to lead up to asking Mr. Warbucks to keep Annie. Ironically, later in the movie, when Lily asks a similar question to Miss Hannigan, Miss Hannigan responds "No, the billionaire, you dumb hotel!" It seems hypocritical for Miss Hannigan to call Lily dumb for not known that Mr. Warbucks is a billionaire and not just a millionaire. Miss Hannigan is angry that Annie gets to live with Mr. Warbucks. After Annie ran away from home, Miss Hannigan thought Annie should have been punished, not rewarded, for that. However, Rooster and Lily assure Miss Hannigan that they can use Annie to get more money. They learn exactly how they can do that after Mr. Warbucks offers a $50,000 reward to the couple who can prove that they are Annie's parents.

"I Think I'm Gonna Like it Here" is the song that Daddy Warbucks' servants sing to Annie to inform her what life will be like with Daddy Warbucks. Annie is used to being treated very badly so she is shocked to learn that she will be treated like a queen at Daddy Warbucks' place. However, the servants tell Annie "We never had a little girl" to warn Annie that Daddy Warbucks is sexist. Daddy Warbucks, who enters as soon as the song is over, confirms what the song said. He says that he wanted an orphan boy, not an orphan girl. However, Grace tells Daddy Warbucks that he didn't specify that he wanted a boy and Daddy Warbucks reluctantly accepts Annie as a guest. Over time, Daddy Warbucks and Annie grow to love each other.

From the sewing room the girls went to the kitchen where they washed and stacked the plates. Annie asked the girls if it seemed like the wind was always howlin' and to that Kate and Tessa asked if it seemed like there was never any light.

Punjab and The Asp were also in the office. As the meeting progressed, outside you saw a man carrying a lit bomb. Sandy started barking as the man threw the bomb into Oliver's office. Sandy jumped through the broken office door and attacked the assailant. Meanwhile Asp threw the bomb to Punjab who immediately threw it out the door. Punjab and Asp, with the help of Sandy, apprehended the man. Sandy jumped up next to Oliver who thanked the dog for saving his life.

Miss Hannigan is the name of the woman who runs the orphanage in the movie Annie. Interestingly, the character of Miss Hannigan was played by Carol Burnett in the 1982 film adaptation of the Broadway musical. Burnett was initially hesitant to take on the role, as she had never played a villain before, but ultimately decided to accept the part. Her performance was widely praised and earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. Additionally, the character of Miss Hannigan was inspired by a real-life person: a woman named Agatha Hannigan, who ran an orphanage in New York City in the early 20th century.

When Miss Hannigan holds auditions for people to pretend to be Annie's parents, it goes hilariously badly at first. In possibly the funniest scene in any version of "Annie", we see one of the couples doing a very unconvincing job trying to be Annie's parents, then, to attempt to prove that they are Annie's parents, they say that they will tell Annie to sing their special song, which goes "The sun'll come out, pronto! Bet your bottom dollar that, pronto!" Needless to say, that couple failed the audition.

The 1999 movie is unique in that Miss Hannigan is the fake mom. In the Broadway musical and the 1982 movie, Lily is the fake mom. In the 1999 movie, Rooster and Miss Hannigan pretend to be Annie's parents and they leave Lily to look after the kids. Lily foolishly tells the orphans that Rooster and Miss Hannigan are at Mr. Warbucks' place. The orphans then steal Lily's purse and threaten to show her fake IDs to the cops if she doesn't tell them what's going on. When she does, they also make her realize that Rooster may not keep his promise and come back for her.

The orphan girls hear this song on the radio, then they all sing it together. According to the song, only a "Brother" is never fully dressed without a smile, so according to the song, all those girls can frown all they want and they'll still be fully dressed.

Aileen Quinn was born on June 28, 1971. She was born in Yardley, Pennsylvania to Andrew and Helenann Quinn Sr. This was Aileen's first official acting job. She performed all her own vocals and dance routines in the film. She was 9 years old when she was cast in the lead role of "Annie".

After leaving the business Aileen would pursue a career in education. She has taught drama, dance, and Spanish. Aileen is also a recording artist and is truly a versatile and talented performer. Aileen was under contract to Columbia Pictures for many years for any further "Annie" projects. She was 16 years old when her contract expired.
