Kowalski was obviously the smartest of the penguins with general knowledge. He was taking notes when Skipper talked and was in charge of finding directions, so he was pretty smart. Private and Rico were useful, but not too bright, and Skipper is not a choice.

They send up a flare, then sneak right into the midst of the fossa pack. They set up a pole with the boat steering wheel on it. One of the penguins gets covered in whipped cream as a temptation for the fossa, while the others spin the wheel and use it as a defensive weapon.

The penguins broke out of their cage when they found out they were being sent to Africa. Then they knocked out the people who were on the boat and the boat overturned.

None of the animals expect they are in Madagascar, so Melmen makes a theory that they are in San Diego Zoo.

"White sandy beaches, cleverly simulated natural environment, wide-open enclosures. I'm telling you, this could be the San Diego Zoo. Complete with fake rocks. Wow, that looks real."

Please don't take offense if you're from New York. Alex meant it kindly, he loves New York and his Central Park Zoo.

Actor Ben Stiller, who voices Alex, was also born and grew up in New York. He has made a large volume of work, as an actor, writer, director and producer including "Reality Bites", "Something About Mary" and "Tropic Thunder".

Answer: Guinea Pigs

Alex said, "Is he like king of the guinea pigs," before the squirrels were even mentioned. Then they asked the lemurs where the people were, but the only people were dead ones hanging from a tree.

His plan is to use Alex to drive away the fossa. Even though it doesn't occur anything like he envisioned it, he takes credit for the victory and starts the robot and is soon joined by Maurice.
The robot dance itself can be traced back to Charlie Chaplin in the movie "Modern Times". The more popular contemporary version was popularized by Michael Jackson in the 70s.

At the going away party, the king said he had decided to give Alex his crown because he had a new one that had a gecko on it.

For Marty's sake, the penguins feed Alex fish sushi so he doesn't eat the group! He likes it and never eats steak again.

Answer: "Copacabana (At The Copa)" by Barry Manilow

Barry Manilow has said he co-wrote the music for "Copacabana (At The Copa)" in 15 minutes. The song was released in 1978 and gave Barry Manilow his only Grammy Award. As Kolwalski says, "It Never Gets Old".

The Copacabana Night Club is a real place on West 34th Street in New York City.

The mat said "Wild Sweet Wild," but a sign on the door did say "No Soliciting."
Alex finally went over to the fun side once Melman and Gloria left and Marty convinced him. The hut was called Casa del Wild.

He is initially unsure about the food but ends up enjoying it. The penguin is evidently a very accomplished chef, and he even dresses the part. Alex likes the dish so much he orders 300 to go.

Maurice, the king's asistant, introduced King Julien XIII to Alex and his friends when they first got to the island.

When the four penguins arrive in Madagascar, they slide down the anchor to the sandy beaches of Madagascar. Rico puts suncream on whilst Skipper talks to Melman and Gloria about their monochromatic friend, Marty, and Alex.

Happily for Skipper, Zuba performs a wedding ceremony for Skipper and Doll near the end of the movie.

It was quiet, but Julien did actually say "Go, Stevie, Go," not Phoebe. Stevie is a small, black and orange striped gecko, but he didn't do much in this movie. Then, Alex, Marty, Gloria, and Melman started to head back to New York. I say "started" because the boat was out of gas and they couldn't actually go anywhere.

At the end, Marty, Alex, Gloria and Melman board the boat and make plans to take a trip around the world. Unbeknown to them, the penguins are laying out on the beach and know the secret that no one is going anywhere. They reveal that the boat is out of gas, and so Skipper tells the rest of his crew to "Just smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave." The group of four penguins is a para-military like group who engage themselves in missions and paranoid conspiracies. They each have a specific role. Skipper is the leader, Kowalski is the planner, Private is the youngest and the code-cracker, and Rico is the weapons and explosives expert.

Skipper was always the one to give orders to the three other penguins.
