Yes, Art is a revered martial artist and is looked up to by Johnny Cage. When he dies, Johnny wants revenge and he challenges Goro to a fight and kills him. He first encounters Johnny on the dock to the Nethership, Shang Tsung's flagship.

After the final battle with Shang Tsung, Liu, Johnny, Sonya and Kitana return home where Rayden is waiting for them. All five are happy with winning the Tournament. Then they see the Emperor. All of them immediately prepare for battle with him and that is the end of the movie.

Cameron Diaz was actually cast to play Sonya, but broke her wrist during the filming. Bridgette Wilson was then cast as the replacement Sonya Blade.

He is a supporter of Johnny Cage and is looking forward to competing in the tournament; however, he is killed in his the battle with the Shokan Prince, Goro. I wonder what he would be like if he was ever playable in the games.

Liu Kang defeats Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, Reptile, Kitana and an African-American competitor, to win the tournament. Johnny Cage defeats Scorpion and Goro, and Sonya Blade defeats Kano. If Liu Kang had not been succesfull in beating Shang Tsung, Earthrealm would have been destroyed.

"Techno-Syndrome" can be heard during the opening credits, and also during the final battle between Shang Tsung and Liu Kang. The Immortals remixed "Techno-Syndrome" for the theme song of the sequel, "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation".
