Mrs. Doubtfire Trivia Questions

Mrs. Doubtfire makes a comment to Miranda saying that Stu is more of a thick soup than a name. Then, Miranda tells her that "Stu" is short for "Stuart".

In order to give Mrs. Doubtfire a better chance of getting the position, Daniel first calls Miranda under the guise of applicants who'd be horrible choices. One of these is an ex-band member from "Severe Tire Damage" who is okay with giving the kids "a few light slams" every now and then. Others include a woman who only knows three words in English and my personal favorite: a German lady who says she won't "werk" with the males because she used to be one.

She comes so the courts know how Daniel is living. He has three months in which to get a flat and a job and she comes to check how he is doing. When the children first come his flat is really messy.

Stu states while ordering the meal that he was allergic to pepper. Daniel is on his way back from re-dressing and notices his family's order waiting in the kitchen. He takes advantage of the situation, grabs the cayenne and spices up Stu's plate. This leads to him performing the Heimlich maneuver on Stu and eventually Daniel's unveiling.

When the animals from the petting zoo were bothering her, she phoned up Miranda and the receptionist mentioned her name.

Daniel comes up with the name from looking at a newspaper that had a headline with "...Doubt Fire..." on it.

While both Miranda and the kids are impressed by Mrs. Doubtfire enough to give her the job, things don't go so well on Daniel's first night as he accidentally burns their dinner as well as himself. Luckily, he finds the aforementioned restaurant in the phone book from which one can order gourmet meals for delivery and is able to put a delicious dinner on the table.

Brosnan, a native of Meath, Ireland, landed the role of Stuart "Stu" Dunmeyer for this film. In the middle of the movie, Miranda introduced Mrs. Doubtfire to Stuart and Mrs. Doubtfire asked why his name was "Stu" since that reminded her of a food. Miranda told Mrs. Doubtfire that "Stu" was short for his real name of Stuart. In the middle of the film, Stuart took Miranda and the kids and Mrs. Doubtfire to a public pool to swim. After Stuart got out to have a drink, he spoke to someone about how he wanted to marry Miranda and he said that Daniel was a loser. When Mrs. Doubtfire heard this, she launched a fruit in Stuart's direction and hit him in the back of the head. At the end of the movie, Mrs. Doubtfire saved Stuart from choking but it was also revealed that Daniel was Mrs. Doubtfire. Brosnan had parts in the films "Dante's Peak", "The Tailor of Panama" and "Goldeneye".

She says this when he is being introduced to the children for the first time. When Mrs Doubfire is making a cup of tea, Miranda remarks on how well she knows her way around the kitchen.

"...Carpe Dintem, seize the teeth!" At this point in the scene, Daniel/Mrs.Doubtfire is intoxicated from drinking Scotches with Mr. Lundi, and drops his dentures in his wine glass. He fishes them out with a fork, and "shakes them like a dog".

Mrs. Sellner comes by every Monday and Friday evening to check Daniel's apartment.

When he is getting out of the costume his mask falls out of the window into the street and gets run over by a lorry. Mrs Doubtfire then has to put cream on her face when she is talking to Mrs Sellner to cover up the fact that she is Daniel.

This is the scene when Daniel is first getting settled into the apartment, and everything is a mess. Mrs. Sellner inspects carefully while Daniel frantically tries to undress from his costume, and Daniel breaks the tension with some comic relief about the mouse trap. "If you wanted some cheese why didn't you just say so?" Mrs. Sellner is shocked and doesn't respond to Daniel, which is typical of her dry personality.

Lydia and the kids got punished and Natalie waxed the candle holder and Chris scrubbed the wall.

When Lydia and Chris find out who Mrs. Doubtfire really is he tells them that Uncle Frank and Aunt Jack made him into a woman.

Chris accidentally walks in on Mrs. Doubtfire in the bathroom and is horrified to see "her" using the toilet the way a man would. So, Daniel is forced to reveal his identity to both Chris and Lydia, his eldest daughter. However, he makes them promise not to tell anyone else, which they agree to do.

Chris walks into the bathroom when his father is in there and sees him, he then tells Lydia, however Natalie does not find out until they go to the resturant.

The kids demand to watch television when Mrs. Doubtfire brings up homework, but she takes the remote. She then tosses it behind her without even looking and it lands in the fish tank. "From now on all you will be watching is deep CNN".
(I wonder how many times they had to do that scene before he made it!)

Mrs. Doubtfire tells Chris that she was captain of a women's soccer team in England. Then, later on in the movie, Chris and Mrs. Doubtfire play a game of soccer in the park.

Shortly after Daniel adapts his Mrs. Doubtfire persona, Miranda starts seeing one of her old high school friends, Stu. In an attempt to deter Miranda from getting too intimate with him, Mrs. Doubtfire delivers some hilarious lines such as the one above and "let your sheets cool down before you bring someone else into the bed".
