In the movie "The Party" (1968), Claudine played Michele Monet, a struggling actress who attended a swanky Hollywood party with Captain "Permission to Come Aboard" Stubing (a.k.a. Gavin McLeod). While at "The Party", Claudine's character met Hrundi V. Bakshi, a bumbling East Indian actor who had been accidentally invited to the party, played by Peter Sellers.

The film was essentially a Sellers vehicle for his hilarious antics, but Longet brought to the screen her gentle sweetness, which was irresistible.

The show itself had been a Las Vegas staple for years and there was a scene from the Elvis Presley movie "Viva Las Vegas" (1964) that featured the "Folies Bergere" show.

Spider Sabich was a former Olympic slalom skier, whom Claudine was involved with after leaving her husband, Andy Williams. In 1976, while at Sabich's place in the mountains in Colorado, it was alleged that Claudine had purposely murdered Sabich. Claudine claimed that the gun went off in her hand. Claudine was put on trial for murder and was found not guilty of murder but guilty of criminally negligent homicide; she spent 30 days in jail.

She shied away from public life after this and had kept a very low profile during the years following the incident.

Although Claudine made guest appearances on all of these shows it was her appearance on "Run For Your Life" (a show which aired on NBC from 1965 to 1968 and starred Ben Gazzara as a man who had been told, by his doctor, that he only had a couple of years to live) in 1966 which helped launch her singing career.

She was signed by A&M Records shortly after her appearance on the show and the song she sang on the show, "Meditation" was the song she recorded and released as her debut single.
