8. Kiichi Nakajima, an elderly Japanese who has been through the turmoil of WWII, is overcome with phobia of the next nuclear disaster which will wipe Japan out. He resolves to emigrate to Brazil. His family reacts by declaring him mentally incompetent.
9. Kingo Gondo is about to take ownership of a successful shoe company when faced with an utter moral dilemma. A kidnapper mistakenly takes hold of his chauffeur's son (instead of his own son), demanding an exorbitant ransom for the release. Gondo decides to pay the ransom. The hunt for the criminal, and his motives, ensues.
10. Dr. Kyojio Niide is a doctor running a small clinic in one of Edo's neighbourhoods. His external roughness is a mere manifestation of his earnest love of his profession, his patients and his rebel apprentice.
