Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Glint tease t'would?

Answer: Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood was nominated for Best Actor and Best Director (he won the latter award). The film was "Million Dollar Baby."
2. Chez me fogs?

Answer: Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in "Collateral," in which he plays a taxi driver forced to drive a professional hitman (Tom Cruise) on his appointed rounds. Foxx won the Best Actor award for his performance in "Ray," a biography of Ray Charles. (This is a fabulous film that I recommend highly.) The actor gave the most moving speech of the evening, thanking his daughter and his late grandma (along with Sidney Poitier, Halle Berry, and Oprah Winfrey).
3. Nattily portmanteau (minus tow or toe)?

Answer: Natalie Portman

The beautiful Ms. Portman was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in "Closer."
4. Hull lorry shrank?

Answer: Hilary Swank

The 2000 Best Actress winner for the 1999 film "Boys Don't Cry," Hilary Swank won again in 2005 for Best Picture "Million Dollar Baby," costarring--and directed by--Clint Eastwood.
5. Gate wince slit?

Answer: Kate Winslet

Lovely "Titanic" and "Sense and Sensibility" star Kate Winslet was nominated for Best Actress in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."
6. Leigh yo Knorr dough duck cabriolet (minus lei or lay)?

Answer: Leonardo DiCaprio

The "Titanic" and "Catch Me If You Can" star was nominated for Best Actor in "The Aviator," a biopic about Howard Hughes.
7. Yawn knee debt?

Answer: Johnny Depp

Distinguished actor Depp was nominated for Best Actor in "Finding Neverland." I guess 2004 was a big year for biographical films. This one tells the story of "Peter Pan" author J.M. Barrie's friendship with a family who inspired Barrie to write the classic tale.
8. Fur zinnia Matt's son?

Answer: Virginia Madsen

Ms. Madsen was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in "Sideways."
9. Marlins coarse sneezy?

Answer: Martin Scorsese

Scorsese was nominated for Best Director of "The Aviator," the Howard Hughes biography starring Leonardo DiCaprio. He deserved to win, in my opinion, if only for his body of work, but Clint Eastwood won, instead.
10. Low rill inn knee?

Answer: Laura Linney

Ms. Linney was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in "Kinsey," yet another biopic. This one is about Alfred Kinsey, the famous researcher/writer on sexual behavior. Unfortunately for him, he wrote about this racy topic during a pretty prudish era, the 1950s. Linney plays opposite Liam Neeson. BTW, a rill is a very small stream.
