Answer:
Tammy Wynette
Tammy Wynette was already a successful performer when she met George Jones, who was 11 years her senior. In 1968, Wynette and Jones divorced their respective spouses (Don Chapel and Shirley Corley), and got married the following year. Sadly, Jones was dealing with severe alcohol problems, and at one point spent 10 days in a padded cell after a drinking spree. Though the couple had a daughter, Tamala Georgette, in 1970, and often toured together, Jones's drinking and erratic behaviour eventually led to the end of their marriage. Wynette and Jones divorced in 1975, but continued to record together for years. In spite of his alcohol-related health issues, Jones survived Wynette (who died in 1998 at the age of 55 after years of dealing with medical problems) by 15 years, dying in 2013 at the age of 81. "Stand by Your Man" (1968) is Wynette's best-known song.
