The premiere episode's last scene was a doozy. "Big Sky" was also the title of a 1997-1999 TV series from Australia involving a small airline company. The same title was used by a 1997 TV mini-series showcasing performances of Canadian musicians.

One film with the title "Big Sky" came out in 1952 and starred Kirk Douglas as a frontiersman, and was directed by the legendary Howard Hawks. The 2011 "Big Sky" film is a drama, and the 2015 "Big Sky" film is a thriller in which a teenager and her mother are menaced by a gunman. The film, "All That Jazz" was a semi-autobiographical film directed by Bob Fosse, which was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. He hated the movie. Hayed it." Kubrick managed to have it pulled from circulation. The famed director also hated "Gone With the Wind" and also hated another American classic; his daughter has said "The Wizard of Oz"--his daughter said, "I know he hated 'The Wizard of Oz'. Ha ha!"
