Marina is Prunella's best friend. They met in the library. Prunella accidentally ordered a Braille version of her favorite book and she was looking for a Braille translation book in the library. Marina was also in the Braille section of the library because she is blind. They bumped into each other and Prunella dropped her book. Marina picked it up and started reading it with her hands. Prunella asked Marina to read the book to her because Prunella can't read Braille. This is the beginning of their friendship.
Prunella had started off as one of the most arrogant and disrespectful characters on the show. She learned a lot from Marina. Things she learned from Marini included:
-Don't be extra-helpful to disabled people. Only offer the help they request and need. Don't offer more than that.
-Don't get jealous of your best friend just because she's better at something than you are (such as yoga).
-Prunella needed to learn not to worry that her mom might prefer Marina over her. Prunella's mom likes Marina, but she does not prefer her over her own daughter.
-Do not worry too much about college when you are only nine years old.
-Do not take on more extra-curricular activities than you can handle.
-Reading is not a race. Do not read as quickly as you can to finish the book before your friend does. Read at your own pace so you can get all the details and enjoy it more.
-If you take a class (gymnastics in this case) at six in the morning, go to bed early so you can wake up early enough to be on time.
-Prunella shouldn't use her fortune-telling powers to deceiver her friends.

This works for a while.
In "Maria Speaks," Mr. Ratburn asks her to be a reporter for the school news show. She doesn't want to do it, but Jenna and Mr. Ratburn help her get over her stuttering. In the end, she does her report without much stuttering and impresses everyone.
