Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:
Of the songs sung by heroic characters, 'Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo' is the Fairy Godmother's song from 'Cinderella' and is sung by Verna Felton. 'The Phoney King of England' is from 'Robin Hood', my favourite Disney movie of all time, and is sung by Phil Harris as Little John (with other characters joining in). 'Under the Sea' is from 'The Little Mermaid', the film that heralded the '90s Disney renaissance, and is sung by Samuel E. Wright as Sebastian the crab. 'A Whole New World', a duet between Aladdin (Brad Kane) and Princess Jasmine (Lea Salonga), is from 'Aladdin'; Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson also recorded a version. 'Go the Distance' is from 'Hercules' and is sung by Roger Bart as Hercules in the film, while Michael Bolton recorded his own version. 'When She Loved Me', sung by Sarah McLachlan, is from 'Toy Story 2' and is from the point of view of Jessie, a cowgirl doll. 'Let It Go', Elsa's anthem from 'Frozen' and arguably one of the most famous Disney songs of all time, is sung by Idina Menzel.
Many Disney villains also have songs of their own. 'Trust in Me', sung by Sterling Holloway as Kaa the snake, is from 'The Jungle Book'. 'Be Prepared', from 'The Lion King', is sung by Jeremy Irons as Simba's evil uncle Scar. 'Friends on the Other Side' is from 'The Princess and the Frog' and is sung by Keith David as the witch doctor Dr Facilier.
As for the wrong answers, 'The Prayer' is from 'Quest for Camelot', a Warner Bros. film, and was sung by Sarah McLachlan. 'Somewhere Out There' (sung by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram in the credits, and Phillip Glasser and Betsy Cathcart as Feivel and Tanya Mousekewitz in the film) is from 'An American Tail'. 'Sun Do Shine', sung by Glen Campbell as Chanticleer the rooster, is from 'Rock-a-Doodle'. Both of these are Don Bluth films. '(Money Is Such) A Beautiful Word' is from 'Tom and Jerry: The Movie', and is sung by Charlotte Rae and Tony Jay (Robyn's evil aunt and Lickboot, her minion). 'Toxic Love' is sung by Tim Curry in the role of Hexxus, a dark spirit of destruction, and is from the independent film 'FernGully: The Last Rainforest'.
