Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In which book do we first hear about Luna's family?

Answer: Goblet of Fire

We first hear of the Lovegoods on the journey to the Quidditch World Cup. Amos Diggory states that "The Lovegoods have been there for a week already".
2. Luna is known for her eccentric clothes and accessories. One of these is her Butterbeer cork necklace. Luna believes this necklace to have special powers- which of these is it?

Answer: It repels Nargles.

Nargles are very mischievous and are known to steal things. They also infest mistletoe on occasion.
3. Luna believes everything printed in the Quibbler, one of these false statements being that Cornelius Fudge had an army of magical creatures. Which of the following were they?

Answer: Heliopaths

A Heliopath is a spirit of fire, which burns everything in its path. Luna believes that she had seen Aquavirius Maggots during the battle in the Department of Mysteries, however they were instead brains. Luna also stated that Fudge had an Umgubular Slashkilter, yet not an army of them.

The Blibbering Humdinger was the creature Luna distracted everyone with in the Deathly Hallows, when Harry wanted some peace and quiet. All of these creatures are imaginary yet believed to exist by Luna and her father.
4. Luna is adamant that Crumple-Horned Snorkacks exist. Where did she and her father go looking for them in the summer of 1996?

Answer: Sweden

They funded the trip with the money that Xenophilius Lovegood got from selling Harry Potter's interview to the Daily Prophet. This was after the Wizarding World accepted Voldemort's return.
5. What was Luna doing on the Hogwarts Express when Romilda Vane rudely interrupted Harry, Neville and her in 1996?

Answer: Using her Spectrespecs

Spectrespecs were given away in an edition of the Quibbler in 1996. In the film version of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", Luna used these to find Harry on the train. Luna and Romilda expected Harry to want to sit with "cooler" people, but Harry soon made his feelings about Luna and Neville clear.
6. Which of these were the men who came to arrest Xenophilius Lovegood in "The Deathly Hallows", after he informed the Ministry of Harry's whereabouts?

Answer: Travers and Selwyn

Luna had been kidnapped by the Death Eaters because of the support that her father was featuring in the Quibbler. She was held for months with Ollivander in the Malfoy's basement. When Harry, Hermione and Ron turned up at her house, Xenophilius immediately sent an owl to the Ministry, in hope that Luna would be returned to him if he handed in the trio.
7. Which of these is NOT a quote said by Luna?

Answer: "She was quite an unusual witch"

The correct quote is actually "She was quite an extraordinary witch". Luna is referring to her mother, who died when she was just nine.
8. An article in the Quibbler claims that someone flew to the moon and brought back a bag of Moon Frogs back as evidence. What was the broom that they supposedly used?

Answer: Cleansweep 6

Due to where the article was published, it is probably exaggerated and a lie. There are many Cleansweep brooms, produced by the Cleansweep Broom Company.
9. Luna can often be found staring at people. What colour eyes does she have?

Answer: Grey

Luna has long, dirty-blonde hair and unusual "silvery grey" eyes. She has very wide eyes. Her tendency to stare at people makes them feel rather uncomfortable.
10. Time for the final question! Which of these is Luna's last word of the Harry Potter series?

Answer: Humdinger

As mentioned in question three, the Blibbering Humdinger was the creature Luna distracted everyone with at the end of "The Deathly Hallows", when Harry wanted some peace and quiet.
