Later, she is seen sitting alone when Farmer Ted approaches her. At the end of the movie, you see Samantha and Jake sitting by the window at Jake's house with a birthday cake. Jake asks Samantha to make a wish, and she says, "It has already come true".

So, Henry tries a new way every day to get Lucy to talk to him but is told to stay away from the Hukilau Cafe, so he tries to get Lucy to pull her car over so he can speak to her. After a few of Henry's staged breakdowns and kidnappings, Lucy's father, Marlin Whitmore, notices that Lucy only sings on days that she meets Henry. After noticing Lucy only sings on days she meets Henry, he is allowed to date Lucy.

But after overhearing that Henry is meant to go and study walruses in Bristol Bay but has decided not to because he wants to stay with Lucy, she decides they need to break up, so Henry helps her destroy journal entries about him so she will no longer remember him. As Henry is leaving for Bristol Bay, Marlin gives him a CD as a parting gift, which turns out to be the Beach Boys. As Henry is playing the CD, it makes him think that Lucy remembers him, so he rushes to the institute where Lucy is staying. When he gets there, he asks her if she knows who he is, and she answers no but shows him paintings she has painted of him and says she dreams of him almost every night. The movie ends with Lucy and Henry back together again on Henry's boat that is in Alaska.

Henry is played by Adam Sandler, Lucy is played by Drew Barrymore, and Marlin is played by Blake Clark.
