"Sixteen Candles" is about a teenage girl named Samantha, who is celebrating her sixteenth birthday, that everyone forgets because the house is full of carnage. After all, it is her sister's wedding the next day. When she gets home from school, her grandparents are there, and they also have forgotten her birthday.

After dinner, Samantha goes to a school dance where she sees Jake, a senior she has a crush on, but can not bring herself to talk to him. Later, she is seen sitting alone when Farmer Ted approaches her. They both sit and talk for a little while, and it comes up that Farmer Ted was just talking to Jake, and Jake asked about Samantha, so Samantha goes to see Jake but still can not bring herself to talk to him. Later that night, Samantha's father comes downstairs to say he's sorry they forgot her birthday.

After her sister's wedding, Jake was across the road from the church waiting for her, so instead of going to her sister's wedding reception, she went with Jake. At the end of the movie, you see Samantha and Jake sitting by the window at Jake's house with a birthday cake. Jake asks Samantha to make a wish, and she says, "It has already come true".

Samantha is played by Molly Ringwald, Jake is played by Michael Schoeffling, and Farmer Ted/The Geek is played by Anthony Michael Hall.

But after overhearing that Henry is meant to go and study walruses in Bristol Bay but has decided not to because he wants to stay with Lucy, she decides they need to break up, so Henry helps her destroy journal entries about him so she will no longer remember him. As Henry is leaving for Bristol Bay, Marlin gives him a CD as a parting gift, which turns out to be the Beach Boys. As Henry is playing the CD, it makes him think that Lucy remembers him, so he rushes to the institute where Lucy is staying. When he gets there, he asks her if she knows who he is, and she answers no but shows him paintings she has painted of him and says she dreams of him almost every night. The movie ends with Lucy and Henry back together again on Henry's boat that is in Alaska.

Henry is played by Adam Sandler, Lucy is played by Drew Barrymore, and Marlin is played by Blake Clark.
