Released in 1996, 'Champagne Supernova' was a hit for the British band Oasis. It was composed by Noel Gallagher, the elder of the two brothers in the band, the other being Liam. Notorious for their feuds, one of these caused the band to split up in 2009.

However, they reformed in 2024 planned a tour for later that year. 'Champagne Supernova' can be found on their album 'What's the Story Morning Glory'.

Born into a Bengali Brahman family in April 1920, Ravindra Shankar was a composer whose sitar playing greatly influenced George Harrison, of Beatles fame. In 1965 George studied the sitar with him; he first featured his playing skills on the band's track entitled "Norwegian Wood'. The Kinnara School of Music in Bombay, was founded by Shankar in 1962. In 1967, he then established a second Kinnara School in Los Angeles. He passed away in 2012 aged 92. He is the father of American singer Norah Jones.

The 'Birth of Venus' was painted by the Italian artist Sandro Botticelli. It is thought to have been completed circa 1483. It depicts the Roman goddess Venus coming forth from the sea, fully grown. Venus is the goddess of love, beauty, pleasure fertility and procreation.

She was worshipped by the Romans. The painting is on display at the Uffizi gallery in Florence, which is the birthplace of Botticelli. Sandro Botticelli was regarded as being one of the greatest of the Italian Renaissance artists.

Best known for 'Fahrenheit 451' and born in Waukegan, Illinois in 1920, Ray Bradbury penned this novel in 1958. One of his other works is the 'Martian Chronicles', which is a series of short stories. These tell the story of how Americans, shortly after Word War II, leave earth, which is eventually destroyed by nuclear war, and travel to Mars in a journey of exploration and settlement.
