Answer: Richard Burton

This concept album was released in 1978. Other famous names that appear on the album are Phil Lynot as Parson Nathaniel, Julie Covington as Beth and David Essex as the Artilleryman.
2. On 29 September 1952 John Cobb died while trying to break the world water speed record. On which body of water did he die?

Answer: Loch Ness

John Cobb already held the world land speed record of over 390 mph and was attempting to achieve the double by breaking the world water speed record, which at that time was 178.4 mph. Two runs were needed to break the world record. On his first run, his boat 'Crusader' reached 200 mph, but on the second run the boat hit a wave, causing it to bounce twice, and then fly apart.

It is thought that John Cobb died instantly.

Answer: Jill Ireland

Jill Ireland was born on 24 April 1936. She was married to David McCallum from 1957-1967 and to Charles Bronson from October 1968 until her death from breast cancer on 18 May 1990.

Speckled Jim was a carrier pigeon which Blackadder shot and ate. Unfortunately, Speckled Jim was a beloved pet of Lord Melchet. Blackadder was subsequently court-martialed and sentenced to death. Blackadder fans will probably already know that he managed to wangle his way out of of the death sentence.
5. By which name is Ilich Ramirez Sanchez more commonly known?

Sanchez was born in Venezuela in 1949. He is thought to have masterminded many terrorist plots in the 1970s and 1980s. He was finally captured in Sudan in 1994 and transferred to Paris. In 1997 he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of two French secret agents and a Lebanese fellow revolutionary in 1975.

Sanchez's father was a committed marxist and named his three sons Vladimir, Ilich and Lenin.

Jim Morrison was born on 8 December 1943 in Melbourne, Florida and died in Paris on 3 July 1971. The cause of death was given as heart failure. He was arrested 9 December 1969 in Miami, Florida on obscenity charges after exposing himself to concertgoers.

Apparently if you drink from a vessel made of amethyst you will not become drunk. I haven't tried this myself. Amethyst is also supposed to ease obsessive compulsive behaviour, increase self esteem and aid sleep.

A form of this game had been played in India for many years, but it was adapted by British army officers in the 1860s. They called the game 'Poona'. in 1873 guests at Badminton House, the Duke of Beaufort's country seat, were invited to play the 'Badminton' game.

The first set of rules for Badminton were written in 1877. Today Badminton house is more famous for the horse trials that are held there every year.

At the time of writing (November 2006), Italy had won the World Cup four times - in 1934, 1938, 1982 and 2006. Argentina had won it twice, in 1978 and 1986. Brazil had won it five times, in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. Spain had never made it to a World Cup final.
