Lake Ontario is the smallest of the five great lakes and the farthest downstream in the Great Lake chain. The water of Lake Ontario flows out through the St. Lawrence River and into the Atlantic Ocean.

The CN Tower was the tallest free-standing structure in the world, at 553 metres. It was opened in 1976. First Canadian place is the second tallest building in Toronto, at 290 m. Burj Khalifa in Dubai took the record for the world's tallest structure in 2007 during its construction. It opened in 2010 and is just shy of 830 metres tall.

The Air Canada Centre opened in February, 1999 and became the new home of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 2018 it was renamed the Scotiabank Arena. The tile mosaic at the entrance to Downsview subway station isn't just a random pattern of tiles. Each different coloured tile block represents a different digit of Pi (3.1415...). It was commissioned by the Toronto Transit Commission from Calgary artist Arlene Stamp in 1993.
