Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

One of the problems with wearing colours at protests is that it makes it easier to be picked out. The umbrellas of Hong Kong helped with this. So did the Guy Fawkes masks popularised by the 2006 film "V for Vendetta", which were soon banned by some governments.

The yellow ribbons of the 1986 protests were a reference to the 1973 song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" following the assassination of a Filipino senator. The People Power Revolution, or the Yellow Revolution, led to the end of Ferdinand Marcos' 20-year dictatorship.

The Argentine protests led to a relaxation of the abortion law in 2020.

Purple Reign? Purple is a colour typically associated with royalty. Using the homophone 'rain', the quiz title is perhaps better known in music circles linked to the artist formerly known as Prince. Perhaps it could also be seen as a protest comment on the powers that be. Thanks to GBfan for the Author Challenge title.
