Though Gaul comprised of France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany (up to the Rhine River) and parts of northern Italy, most of Gaul fell within modern France.
2. Who was Caesar's "Master of the Horse"?

Answer: Mark Antony

Mark Antony was Caesar's right hand man, even as early as the Gallic Wars. Mark Antony later became a lover a Cleopatra VII, just as Caesar was before he died. Mark Antony wasn't so lucky; both he and Cleopatra committed suicide after defeat at the hands of Augustus.

Answer: 10th

The 10th had special favor with Caesar, and he had complete trust and confidence in it.
4. Which Gallic leader tricked and ambushed the Romans stationed in Belgium, destroying four cohorts, and killing both Sabinus and Cotta, legates of Caesar?

Answer: Ambiorix

Ambiorix tricked Cotta and Sabienus into thinking all of Gaul was in an uproar, and that the Germanic tribes were crossing the Rhine to attack.
5. The Britons' charioteers consisted of a two-man team.

Answer: true

The Britons would ride their chariots to battle, dropping off one warrior, who fought, while the other waited with the chariot at a safe distance, ready to pick up the fighting warrior if he ran into trouble.
6. Who was the Gallic leader who successfully united the Gallic tribes into a united force to engage Caesar?

Answer: Vercingetorix

Vercingetorix managed to unite numerous tribes under the common fear of Roman subjugation.
7. What was the name of the town where the Gauls were besieged and eventually defeated by Caesar and the Romans?

Answer: Alesia

Alesia was the scene of the last major battle of the Gallic Wars. Located near Alise-Sainte-Reine, Cote d'Or, in modern day France. It is a major archaeological site, and there have been significant finds.
8. The last Gallic warrior to show up to a muster call would be tortured and killed in front of the other warriors?

Answer: True

Vercigetorix called for the last warrior to show up to the gathering of forces to be tortured and killed a warning to the other tribesmen. This practice seems to be confined to the events of the revolt, and to Vercigetorix himself, to secure every last man capable of bearing arms.
9. Two centurions were in a constant contest over who was the better man. When one jumped off the ramparts, during a siege by the Nervii, to engage the Gauls by himself, he ran into trouble. The other centurion also jumped down to help him, running into trouble himself. After killing several Gauls, both men made it safely back within the walls. Who were they?

Answer: Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus

Titus Pullo and Lucius Vorenus were both vying for appointment as a senior centurion. When Pullo jumped down from the ramparts to engage the Gauls by himself, a dart stuck into his scabbard, preventing him from drawing his sword. Vorenus then leaped into the fray, killing a Gaul before he himself tripped and landed in a ditch.

Then Pullo came to Vorenus' rescue, and both made it back over the wall, to the cheers of the Roman soldiers.
10. When the Gallic Wars were over, Vercingetorix was brought back to Rome as prisoner. What happened to him during Caesar's quadruple triumph?

Answer: Strangled in prison

Though sources vary, by most accounts Vercingetorix was strangled in prison, strangulation being the most popular form of execution of prisoners in Rome at the time.
