3. You're making pancakes. In your mix you have flour, milk, oil, sugar, baking soda and salt. What have you forgotten?

Answer: eggs

This is a plain pancake mix, and egg is essential. Buckwheat, blueberries, ham etc. can be added (not all together, please!) according to your preferences for healthy, sweet or savoury pancakes. Tip: to avoid the sharp taste of baking soda, you can include a fermented dairy product such as buttermilk or yoghurt, replacing some or most of the milk.

4. What is the primary purpose of using cotton in the production of denim fabric?

Answer: To enhance breathability and durability

Cotton is widely used in the production of denim fabric due to its excellent breathability and durability. Denim, commonly used to make jeans, is typically made from cotton twill weave, which provides strength and durability while remaining comfortable to wear. Cotton's natural fibres allow air to circulate, making denim garments suitable for a wide range of climates. Cotton denim is also known for its ability to soften over time with wear and wash, adding to its appeal and comfort.

7. What is the name of the lexical game that calls upon the solver's vocabulary, creativity, and spelling abilities to identify a 5-letter target by placing randomly guessed letters into their correct positions within it?

Answer: Wordle

Wordle was developed in 2013 by Josh Wardle, a Welsh software engineer. The object of the game is to guess a particular 5-letter English word by guessing at a succession of such words. The player is given six guesses to find the word; each guess returning feedback to the player by identifying any letters included in the target and their correct position within it. What seems simple can be maddeningly tricky! There are now versions of Wordle for larger words and even for non-English words.

There are online tournaments and even online solving programs.
