All Your Dreams ... Trivia Quiz
Can be Found in an Idiom or Cliché
Here's a few verses about my daunting trek (thus far) through the Ascension Quest using idioms/expressions and just plain old common sayings all with the poor overworked word "dream" (or a close facsimile).
There once was a Demon who dreamed of Ascending,
but the road to Centurion seemed never-ending.
"" taunted her cruel inner voice
Why would you opt for such a difficult choice?
She quizzed and she played never leaving blanks
aspiring to rise higher and higher in the ranks.
Pursuing a slippery task, points aplenty she'd accrue.
Lo and behold! Her would come true!
At times surreal and in a state
yet determined that Lightning Bolt Mini she'd rate!
It wasn't a or a cruel joke.
Her hard work and effort won't go up in smoke!
If she could work with a buddy or a teammate
an elite they'd surely create.
But she's destined to go on and be lonely.
The guidelines clearly stated one player only.
To cheat or finagle is not an option.
The choice is, therefore, a definite Hobson.
Not one to be fierce, even in her
she would never succumb to such taboo schemes!
She traversed fragrant groves with peaceful streams.
When weary she camped and bid herself "".
Collecting colors, flowers and gems that surely did gleam,
vice versa, in frustration she sometimes would scream:

With a twisted plot and dubious theme
more like a nightmare it would seem.

Perhaps the Mage would give her some insight
More likely she'd find herself in an arena to fight!
Last seen our Demon was trekking through Chapter Twelve.
With mysteries, clues and encounters in which she will delve.
Sometimes her hours are spent so deep in fantasy
and until she snaps back to reality.
When all seems fruitless she thinks about quitting.
Then what would she do? Take up knitting?

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:
These versatile phrases, for the most part, are self-explanatory; which is probably why they're so popular. Some idioms, cliches and common expressions have endured through the Ages while others sprung from pop culture, such as sports, movies, video games and even television ads.
"Sweet dreams" is believed to trace its origin back to Proverbs 3:24 which says "When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet."
In the 1870s the term "pipe dream" came into use to describe the hallucinations a person experienced while under the influence of opium.
"The Dreamer", also known as "The Fool" in a Tarot deck could signify a new and exciting phase in life (depending on its position).
"Dream team" is believed to have originated with the 1945 West Point football team which included Felix "Doc" Blanchard and Glenn Davis. With Davis and Blanchard, Army' s record was 27-0-1 in 1944, 1945, and 1946. Davis was nicknamed "Mr. Outside", while Blanchard was "Mr. Inside"--hence they became known as the "Dream Team". The term has worked its way into numerous modern uses, especially in sports and is synonymous for a group who are the best in their field. And let's not forget O.J. Simpson's "Dream Team" of lawyers.
"Living the dream" became a popular term in the US in the 1980s. There was economic growth and decrease in unemployment. "Living the dream" was something you'd frequently hear among the "Wall Street denizens". The meaning has evolved a bit. Nowadays, if you're lucky enough to have a job you love, you could say "you're living the dream".
