Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Twins Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa
Answer: Human
(Spoiler alert! I hope you knew they were siblings!) Leia's and Luke's mother was Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo, who died in childbirth.
Leia was adopted by Senator Bail Organa and the Queen of Alderaan, while Luke grew up on Tatooine. Skywalker was a legendary Jedi Master who helped defeat the Galactic Empire in the Civil War. As well as his involvement in the founding of the New Jedi Order, he helped found the New Republic.
Later the wife of Han Solo, Leia Organa was most famous for her strong leadership during the Galactic Civil War, and became one of the galaxy's greatest heroes.
2. Dorsk 81
Answer: Khommite
A Jedi Knight who sacrificed himself to save the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, Dorsk 81 was originally a Khommite clone. Believing their society had achieved perfection, Khommites cloned their 'perfect' individuals, which meant that for the next millennium their society remained unaltered. Dorsk 81 was one of a near-Human species who viewed Force-sensitivity as an undesirable fluke!
3. Yarna d'al' Gargan
Answer: Askajian
Once a dancer for Jabba the Hutt in his palace on Tatooine, Yarna d'al' Gargan was one of his many possessions, and appeared in "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Episode VI)". Yarna d'al' Gargan is from Outer Rim Territories, whose planet has one moon known as the Moon Lady, whom this species worshipped as a deity.
The Askajians species were a nomadic hunter-gatherer society, especially of large, woolly beasts called tomuons, and plants. Askajians dancers were especially important as they worshipped the Moon Lady with their dance.
4. Nebit
Answer: Jawa
Nebit came from Tatooine, and his species were responsible for locating and later selling C-3PO and R2-D2 to Owen Lars after they crash landed on Tatooine. Jawas possessed yellow, orange or red eyes, with a lifespan the equivalent of 80 earth years. They were great scavengers and known for their resourcefulness and cunning. Nebit himself was from the Outer Rim desert, the leader of a Jawa tribe that scavenged the deserts of their planet. Nebit and his tribe later perished, killed by Imperial stormtroopers searching for the droids.
5. Jar Jar Binks
Answer: Gungan
Gungans were an amphibious race that shared their homeworld with the Human society of Naboo, who first appeared in the 1999 film "Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace". Jar Jar Binks, like others in his species, was characterised by lungs capable of holding breath for extended periods and an extremely flexible skeleton. Jar Jar Binks was a lanky creature, with long ears, a protruding nose, and webbed feet and hands. Gungans had advanced technology such as energy shields, and rode two-legged creatures known as kaadu.
6. Salmakk
Answer: Mon Calamari
Salmakk was a pirate and smuggler who first occupied Echo Base. He was keen to collect the bounty placed on Hans Solo by Jabba the Hutt and attemped to capture him when he arrived on Hoth to rescue Luke Skywalker. Salmakk was an amphibious humanoid with a large, domed head, webbed hands, and bulbous eyes.
Mon Calamari was an oceanic plant, and their society was highly advanced, known for its artistic and engineering achievements; their shipbuilding skills were so advanced they designed and constructed many of the Rebel Alliance's vessels.
7. Pok
Answer: Yuzzem
Believed to be distant relatives of the Wookiees because of their strength and intelligence, the Yuzzem adhered to strict codes of honour and debt-fulfillment. Some Yuzzem were employed as guards by Bossban Soergg Vosadii Bezhin during the Separatist Crisis. Pok's first appearance was in the continuity novel 'Splinter of the Mind's Eye' (formerly subtitled 'From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker') which acts as a sequel to "Star Wars: Episode IV".
8. Rych Ha'andeelay
Answer: Nikto
Rych Ha'andeelay was an outcast as he possessed characteristics of two subspecies of this main species. Because of this, Rych Ha'andeelay found it difficult to gain work, eventually finding occcupation as a soldier for the Hutts. The Nikto came from the homeworld of Nar Shaddaa, the largest moon of Nal Hutta, but were thought to have been brought to Nar Shaddaa from Kintan.
9. Rei'Kas
Answer: Rodian
Originating in a homeworld known for its hot and humid climate, dense jungles, and domed cities, Rei'Kas was a smuggler, slaver and pirate, and arch-rival of Talon Karrde. Before leaving to join the Karazak Slavers Cooperative where he was a Strike Team Leader, he belonged to the Jrahl Ferrin gang. His rough and violent nature made him an unsavoury companion.
10. Cradossk
Answer: Trandoshan
Cradossk was the father of Bossk and leader of the Bounty Hunters Guild. Located in the Mid Rim, Trandoshan was near the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. Revolving around the worship of the Scorekeeper (a deity who rewards Trandoshans for their hunting achievements) this reptilian species was known for its bounty hunting skills, being mercenaries and slavers, and their hierarchical society. Because Trandoshans had regenerative abilities allowing them to heal quickly and even regrow lost limbs, they were formidable opponents and resilient hunters.
