Answer: Ice Cream

 The character of Sally Brainerd travels to this little town called the Cove in Oregon to try to escape the questioning about her father's death. To find out the truth, Special Agent James Quinlan is sent in undercover to find out the rest of the story. Along the highway an Ice Cream billboard is displayed to try to get some tourist attendance and increased revenue into this small town.
2. What was nickname given to the killer in the second book, "The Maze"?

Answer: The String Killer

 In this book we are introduced to Lacey Sherlock. She has just entered the FBI academy and has a field exercise with Dillon Savich in which she impresses him with her efforts. While her intentions are true when she joins the FBI, she can't pass up the opportunity to investigate the murder of her older sister when the same type of crime has been committed in Boston.

The killer got the nickname the "String Killer" for his methods used in past killings, including that of Sherlock's sister in San Francisco.

 Ramsey Hunt is enjoying some time off from his job in San Francisco visiting the mountains near the town of Dillinger, Colorado. In the distance he hears a sound that he is not sure of. Ramsey searches the woods and finds an unconscious 6-year-old Emma Santera. Dillon and Sherlock help out in this nation-wide search for answers as to why someone wants to harm Emma and her mother Molly Santera.

 The fourth book in the series, "The Edge", opens with Jilly driving quickly down a road arguing with Laura. The reader finds out later that she was only there in Jilly's mind. Also present, but only in thought, was Jilly's brother, Ford "Mac" Macdougal. Dillon and Sherlock go along with fellow agent Macdougal to Oregon to investigate the possible suicide.

 The fifth book, "Riptide", has a senior speechwriter trying to prove her innocence and save her life from someone who is accusing her of sleeping with the Governor. Becca heads north to a small town in Maine and hides out from the big city problems. In the old house she moves into, she finds even more mysteries and problems.

The seventh book, "Eleventh Hour", also has Dillon and Sherlock spending some time in Los Angeles piecing together murders that mirrored a television show.

 Sheriff Katie of Jessborough, Tennessee, was travelling down the wooded roads of her town, when she noticed a figure in front of her in the distance. She had luckily been passing by when 6-year-old Sam Kettering came out of the woods being chased by his two holders named Beau Jones and Clancy (Fatso) Edens. Sam's father, Miles, who is also an FBI agent, comes to town with Dillon and Sherlock to try and figure out this mystery.
9. What position in the goverment did Callie Markham's stepfather have in the 9th book, "Blowout"?

Answer: Associate Justice of the Supreme Court

 Stewart Califano was an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court when he went to do some work and reading at the library within the Supreme Court in Washington D.C. Callie Markam rides along with Metro Policeman Ben Raven to try and help with the investigation of her stepfather. Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock are also on the case besides trying to figure out an encounter during their vacation in the Poconos.
10. In the 10th book, "Point Blank", agent Ruth Warnecki was exploring a cave near Maestro, Virginia, that had gold from what past source?

Answer: The Civil War

 Ruth had acquired the map of an old cave and treasure hidden within a book. Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock have to track down Moses Grace and Claudia who are on a killing spree which includes them in the 10th book. Sheriff Dixon Noble comes to the aid of Ruth when she is found near his home.
11. The 11th book, "Double Take", starts with Julia Ransom at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. How does Julia come to meet Special Agent Cheney Stone while admiring the view?

Answer: He saves her life in the water

 Julia Ransom is standing by the railing when she is approached by an unknown person. Being distracted by his questions, she found herself hit and being thrown over the rail and into the freezing water. Luckily for Julia, Special Agent Cheney Stone had witnessed the attack and was on the way to help. Dillon and Sherlock come to San Francisco to help in the investigation of the murder of Julia's husband, psychic August Ransom.

A side story includes sheriff Dixon Noble solving the look-alike mystery of his deceased wife, Christie Noble.

Answer: After the plane he was on crashed

 Rachael Abbott was walking along the road near Parlow Kentucky after her car had just died when she heard the sound of a faltering plane in the distance. She ran to the crashed plane just in time to see the pilot of the plane, Jack Crowne, pull his passenger to safety before the aircraft exploded. Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock come to the small town's clinic to check up on their fellow Special Agent and his companion in the plane, Dr Timothy MacLean. Dillon and Sherlock then try to solve the plane crash, what Dr Maclean had said in the past and who exactly was Rachael Abbott-Abercrombie.

Answer: In her thoughts

 Autumn Backman has the power to communicate with people using her mind. After hearing of Dillon Savich on the television, Autumn "talks" to Dillon and asks for his help for her and her mother, Joanna. Sheriff Ethan Merriweather of Virginia finds the two and tries to protect them from Blessed and his brother Grace.

 Private investigator Erin Pulaski is hired to investigate the offices of German-based drug maker, Schiffer Hartwin. Dr Edward Kender Caskie Royal-CEO of the American subsidiary in Stonebridge, Connecticut, is the target of this fact-finding mission. Special Agent Bowie Richards is called in to investigate along with Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock.

 Special agents Lucy Carlyle and Cooper McKnight are on the chase to find a person with ties to Ted Bundy. Lacey Sherlock and Dillon Savich also help on the investigation and try to help out with a local robbery at a Shop 'n Go.
