6. (1996) Two reporters from a Chicago based tabloid drag along an angel expert to check out the claim that an archangel is staying with an old lady in Iowa. When they get there they find that her claim is true, but the angel isn't anything at all like they'd expected. He has these massive wings of course, but he also likes to smoke and drink and has a colourful vocabulary.
7. (1983) This Monty Python offering, about the trials and tribulations of life, has a skit with angels celebrating Christmas in Heaven.
8. (1946) This Christmas classic tells the story of how Clarence Oddbody shows George Bailey how meaningful his life really has been, and how George, in turn, helps Clarence get his wings.
9. (1994) Living in an orphanage, Roger dreams about having a normal family life. His father tells him that there's about as much chance of that happening as of the 'California Angels' winning the pennant. This seems a pretty bleak prospect but sometimes, when you least expect it, prayers are answered.
10. (1978) Joe is the quarterback of a team that's headed for the Superbowl, until he's in a terrible accident. An over-anxious angel, wanting to save Joe from suffering, takes him to Heaven just before the accident actually occurs. When the records are checked, it's found that Joe wasn't meant to die, but since his body had already been cremated, they had to find another body to place him in.
11. (1989) Pete is a fire fighting pilot, who's very good at what he does, until he takes one too many chances. The next time he sees his friends they can't see him, because he's a ghost. Hap is an angel-like creature who helps Pete come to terms with being dead, and teaches him how to let go.
12. (2000) Based on a television show from the 70s, this movie is about three female detectives, and their very elusive boss, who never materializes into anything more solid than a voice.
13. (1968) This cult film told the story of an intergalactic space babe, in the year 40,000, who has been charged by the president of the United States to find the young scientist Duran Duran before he can threaten world peace. Along the way she has encounters with an odd assortment of characters, including a very scantily dressed, male (of course) angel.
14. (2001) A struggling comedian, who pays the bills by being a bicycle messenger, is plucked from an accident just before it happens, by an over-cautious bureaucrat from Heaven. Of course it wasn't his time to go, so he's plunked down into the body of a wealthy old man whose wife is trying to kill him.
15. (1966) This classic movie traces the lives of 2 orphaned, teenaged, trouble makers living in the St. Francis Academy for girls. As the girls mature, their attitude changes, under the loving guidance of the Mother Superior, played by Rosalind Russell.
