Beauty and the Beast (1991) Trivia Quiz

When the movie begins, the narrator tells the story of how an enchantress cursed a prince when he wouldn't offer her help. She warned the prince that he would remain a beast forever if he didn't find love before the last petal on the enchantress's rose fell.

Belle is seen leaving her home to return a library book and get another one. She borrows a book she has read before and the owner gives her the book since she likes it so much. Belle dodges obstacles on her way out of town while she's reading the book. One of those obstacles is Gaston.

After Maurice got his wood chopping invention to work, he took it to the fair. On his way, Maurice got lost and was chased by wolves. He found shelter in the Beast's castle. When the Beast found him, he threw Maurice into the dungeon.

While Maurice was away, Gaston planned a wedding and had it ready outside of Belle's home. He was sure she would say yes to his proposal. In the gentlest way possible, Belle told Gaston she couldn't marry him and caused him to topple down the porch stairs. Belle wanted more for her life than Gaston.

When Phillipe returned without Maurice, Belle got on the horse and went in search of her father.

When Belle found Maurice in Beast's castle, she traded her life for Maurice's life after she saw how ill Maurice was. The Beast agreed, on the contingency that Belle had to live at the castle forever. Belle agreed and Maurice was let go. It was Luimiere's suggestion that Belle live in one of the rooms instead of in the dungeon. Belle was told she could go anywhere in the castle but the west wing.

Belle doesn't want to have dinner with the Beast, as he demanded, but when she gets hungry Belle finds herself searching for the kitchen. When the servants see she's downstairs, they prepare a sumptuous dinner for her while singing "Be Our Guest".

After dinner, Cogsworth and Lumiére show Belle around the castle. Belle ends up going into the west wing and finding the rose. She's enraptured by the sight until Beast yells and scares her. Belle runs out of the castle, gets on Phillipe, and rides away from the castle.

After Beast scared Belle into leaving the castle, she runs away on Phillipe. The wolves attack her and Phillipe as they race away from the castle. Beast saves her life and is hurt in the process. Belle takes him back to the castle and nurses his wounds.

Beast joins Belle outside in the snow. While the servants are talking about there being something between Beast and Belle, behind them Beast and Belle are having a snowball fight. Belle hits her mark, but when Beast makes a snowball it falls apart before he can hit Belle.

After their day in the snow, Belle and Beast get dressed up for dinner. They are sitting at opposite ends of the table when Belle invites Beast to dance. Mrs. Potts sings "Beauty and the Beast" while Belle and Beast waltz around the ballroom. After the dance, Beast leads Belle outside on the balcony and reveals the mirror that will let her see what Maurice is doing.

When Belle sees Maurice is hurt, Beast releases her to leave and Belle returns to her father. Beast tells Cogsworth he released Belle because he was in love with her.

When Gaston threatens Maurice, Belle uses the mirror to show Beast to the angry townspeople. When the townspeople see how angry Beast is they want to go after him. After Belle refuses Gaston's proposal once again he locks Belle into the cellar with her father and leads the angry townspeople to the castle.

Chip stowed away in Belle's bag and helps Maurice and Belle escape the cellar by using Maurice's wood chopping invention.

After the angry townspeople get into the castle, the staff revolt and attack the people. During the fight, Gaston makes his way up the west wing where Beast is living. He already knows Gaston and the townspeople are in the castle, but doesn't care what happens as he believes he lost Belle.

After realizing he had lost Belle forever, Beast didn't care what happened to him. He let Gaston shoot him with an arrow and try to kill him. Only after Beast heard Belle call for him in the castle, did he fight back.

After Beast fought back when Gaston attacked him, Belle made it to the balcony. Beast climbed up to the balcony and grabbed Belle's hand only to be stabbed by Gaston. When Beast fell back, Gaston lost his grip and fell to his death. Belle grabbed Beast just in time to keep him from falling and pulled him onto the balcony.

After being shot with an arrow and stabbed, Beast told Belle he loved her and then he died, realizing maybe it was for the best. Just as he died, the last petal on the rose fell. Crying, Belle admitted that she loved Beast.

After Belle admitted her love for Beast and the last rose petal fell, Beast transformed back into his human form. Belle saw the blue eyes and knew the prince was Beast. After his transformation, the other servants changed back into their human form. The sky, which was dark and stormy, also transformed into a beautiful sunny sky.

After the transformation, the prince and Belle had a ball and waltzed around the ballroom while townspeople and servants watched. As the movie ended, Chip wanted to know if he still had to sleep in the cupboard.
