Many people believe that Beast is named Adam. This stems from outside content, specifically a CD-ROM game that came out from the movie, so it gets transposed easily. Although commentary is not required to do this quiz, it is revealed in the commentary between all the directors that they never gave him a name. They always just called him Beast.

I find it coincidental that when Gaston runs into Belle at the end of the introduction song, he says the book has no pictures. The only assumption I can make on this is that Gaston really likes picture books. He doesn't agree with women reading, because they "start to get ideas... and think".

Gaston uses many things throughout his battle with Beast. He initially shoots him with a bow and arrow. After throwing him out of the window, Gaston comes at him with a stone piece to the castle. Beast is willing to give up and just let Gaston kill him, but Belle returns and calls to him. If Belle hadn't returned and admitted her true feelings for Beast, the knife wound would have killed him!

When Beast was originally cursed, he was given two objects from the old beggar woman. She gave him a rose "that would bloom until his 21st year". She also gave him a magic mirror, "as it was the only window to the outside world". Beast knows he needs to release Belle from his castle, and because they had developed such a good relationship, and Beast is in love with her, he wants her to remember her.

He doesn't believe she will be back, but lo and behold, she comes back. Happily ever after!
