"Pinocchio": Start to Finish Trivia Quiz

Cliff Edwards voiced Jiminy Cricket. While the opening credits are playing, Jiminy sings "When You Wish Upon a Star". He is one of the major characters in "Pinocchio".

Christian Rub voices Geppetto. Geppetto creates Pinocchio to look like a little boy. When he finishes, he admires his work and wishes the puppet were a real boy so he would have a son. "Pinocchio" is a re-interpretation of "Pygmalion". In that story, the sculptor falls in love with the woman he creates. In this case, Geppetto falls in love (not in a romantic way) with Pinocchio and wants a son.

The name Pinocchio means little wooden head.

After Geppetto wishes on the wishing star, he tells his cat Figaro, that he wished for Pinocchio to be a real boy. Jiminy says that it's a "lovely thought but not practical."

Evelyn Venable voiced the Blue Fairy. While everyone is sleeping, While everyone is asleep except Jiminy, the Blue Fairy comes in through an open window. She tells Geppetto that he deserves for his wish to come true and brings Pinocchio to life, but he is still made of wood.

Even though Pinocchio is still made of wood, Geppetto sees him as a real boy. He sends him to school where he wants him to learn. Pinocchio carries his books tied up in a belt as they used to do back then and heads off to school.

Pinocchio is on his way to school when he is stopped by Honest John (voiced by Walter Catlett) and his sidekick (sound of hiccups provided by Mel Blanc). Gideon is mute (hence only hiccups), but Honest John convinces Pinocchio to become an actor. He then takes him to meet Stromboli (Charles Judels), who puts him in his show as a novelty act - a puppet who can move without strings.

Originally, Gideon was going to speak and was voiced by Mel Blanc, but they changed it and made him mute, tossing out all the work Mel Blanc did minus the hiccups.

Pinocchio's nose grows when he tells a lie. The Blue Fairy asks him why he wasn't in school, and he makes up a story about two monsters and continues to make stuff up. She explains to him that "A lie keeps growing and growing until it's as plain as the nose on your face."

Pinocchio goes with other children to Pleasure Island. While there, he meets Lampwick (voiced by Frankie Darro). On Pleasure Island, the children can do anything they like. However, as they act foolishly, they slowly turn into donkeys. Once fully turned, they cannot return to their families as they are no longer children.

Geppetto was swallowed by Monstro (voiced by Thurl Ravenscroft), who, according to Jiminy, is "a whale of a whale." Pinocchio doesn't care because he knows it's his fault his father was swallowed since he was not in school where he should have been, and therefore Geppetto would have been searching for him.

Pinocchio figures out that the smoke will make Monstro sneeze if they start a fire. When he sneezes, they will go flying out and be free. Monstro is angry and chases them, Geppetto almost drowns, but Pinocchio saves him. Geppetto wakes up and calls "Pinocchio." Jiminy finds Pinocchio lying face-first on the ground with water around him.
