Answer: "Face/Off" and "Pulp Fiction"

Good guy John Travolta plays an FBI agent but becomes the bad guy after he trades faces with Nicholas Cage who plays a terrorist. In a case of identity theft that the title "Face/Off" implies, Travolta is trying to avenge the death of his son who was murdered by Cage's character. Bruce Willis then comes off second best after going up against Travolta in the 1994 Quentin Tarantino cult classic. Willis plays a fugitive boxer named Butch Coolidge who is on the run from his employer after swindling some money from him by fixing one of his fights.

Kiefer Sutherland is finally revealed to be the mystery caller who caused Colin Farrell so much grief during his time trapped in the "Phone Booth." Sutherland also plays gang leader "Ace Merrill" in the Stephen King classic "Stand by Me" in 1986, one of his first roles in which four young boys discover themselves during a coming of age adventure together in the search for the body of a local boy who was thought to be hit by a train.

Answer: "The Matrix" and "Speed"

This question is a case of the bad, the good and the bad, with Keanu Reeves squaring off against Australian actor Hugo Weaving in all three instalments of the futuristic "Matrix" series, in which life is not what it seems for Reeves who plays an office worker. Dennis Hopper's plans of blowing up a bus were then thwarted by Reeves in the action packed "Speed" from 1994.

Answer: "Universal Soldier" and "Rocky IV"

Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren both star as soldiers killed in Vietnam only to be reanimated as futuristic, robot soldiers in "Universal Soldier" back in 1992. Dolph Lundgren then plays a bad guy starring as the near unbeatable Russian boxer "Ivan Drago" in the fourth instalment of "Rocky" starring Sylvester Stallone.

Answer: "Sweeney Todd" and "Talladega Nights"

Johnny Depp stars as the lead role in the first of each pair of films but it is "Sweeney Todd" in which Sacha Baron Cohen meets his match against the "Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (2007) who provides the supplies for Mrs. Lovett's monstrous pie shop. Will Ferrell is also triumphant over Cohen but their dispute is settled on the race track in "Talladega Nights." Ferrell plays the role of Ricky Bobby, a number one race car driver who is challenged by rifts in the friendship of a fellow driver and Cohen who plays French racer Jean Girard.

Answer: "Anger Management" and "The Departed"

It was in 2003 that Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson crossed paths in the comedy "Anger Management." In this film, Sandler is falsely sentenced to be helped by the highly eccentric Nicholson to manage his anger. The genre changes dramatically when Nicholson is paired with Leonardo DiCaprio in the multi award winning "The Departed" in which DiCaprio, a mole for the Boston police, is placed in the ranks of the local Irish mafia, which is being led by Nicholson.

The film took out four Oscars in 2006, including Best Picture.

Answer: "Natural Born Killers" and "Kingpin"

Oliver Stone's violent crime thriller, "Natural Born Killers" includes Woody Harrelson as Mickey Knox, who travels across America on a murderous rampage with his girlfriend, and Robert Downey Junior as a reporter called Wayne Gale. Harrelson then plays a one-handed down and out ten pin bowler by the name of Roy Munson, bowling the game of his life against his nemesis, Big Ern McCracken, played by Bill Murray in the Farrelly brothers' comedy "Kingpin."

Answer: "Cliffhanger" and "Shrek"

It was in 1993 that Sylvester Stallone took on John Lithgow in a search for a case of missing money at high altitudes in "Cliffhanger." This is followed by the first answer to include an animated film. Mike Myers voices the title role of the jolly green ogre "Shrek" in 2001, who wants his swamp returned to him by Lithgow, who provided the voice for the evil Lord Farquaad.

Answer: "Armageddon" and "Reservoir Dogs"

It is in the apocalyptic "Armageddon" of 1998 that Bruce Willis and Steve Buscemi leave the Earth together to drill holes into a big space rock. Harvey Keitel and Steve Buscemi are often type casted into similar roles and therefore have acted together in many movies.

It is as bank robbers known to each other only as "Mr. White" and "Mr. Pink" that the pair try to escape the police after a foiled diamond heist in "Reservoir Dogs."

Answer: "Ocean's Eleven" and "From Dusk Till Dawn"

Brad Pitt and George Clooney team up not only for the remake of a 1960's bank heist classic "Ocean's Eleven" but also keep the group together as it grows slowly until 2007 for "Ocean's Thirteen." George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino then star as the "Gecko Brothers" in the first half of "From Dusk Till Dawn." The project was originally scrapped by Tarantino and a new director took over the running of the film, changing the plot drastically from kidnapping fugitives on the run to a vampire film. The second half change begins with the main characters being immediately killed off.
