Prairie Oyster is a Country/Rock band from Ontario. The band formed in 1975, but had their biggest success in the 1990s. They have been named Group of the Year six times by the Canadian Country Music Association and also received the Fans' Choice award in 1993. Eight of their albums have been certified gold or platinum by the Canadian Recording Industry Association.

Chris Cummings is a native of Norton, New Brunswick. He made his public singing debut at the age of 5 and made his first self-released cassette at the age of 14. This cassette was heard by Jim Ed Norton, president of Warner/Reprise, Nashville and Chris was called out of math class with an offer to go to Nashville and refine his skills as a singer/recorder.

Shania Twain was born Eilleen Regina Edwards on August 28, 1965 in Windsor, Ontario. Her mother divorced and re-married Jerry Twain of the Ojibwa First Nation. She was adopted by Jerry and became Eilleen Twain. In 1991. she changed her first name to Shania, which means "On my way" in Ojibwa.

George Fox was born March 23, 1960 in Calgary, Alberta, but grew up in the small town of Cochrane, Alberta. He became successful in 1988, with his debut singles, "Angelina" and "Goldmine". He has toured with such big stars as Randy Travis, Dolly Parton, George Strait and Willie Nelson.
The town of Cochrane named a street in his honor, "George Fox Trail".

The Poverty Plainsmen were founded in 1987 by Mark Smith and his brother, Sean.
In the late 1990's, they moved their base to my home town of Regina, Saskatchewan and bought The Pump Country Roadhouse, Regina's best dancing spot. They pack the place whenever they play there. The Poverty Plainsmen won the " Independent Group of the Year" award in 2006 from the Canadian Country Music Association.
