Savage Garden was formed in 1994 after Daniel Jones and Darren Hayes left the Australian band, Red Edge. The name "Savage Garden" was take from an American author Anne Rice, who wrote the novels "The Vampire Chronicles."

Darren Hayes was born in Brisbane, Australia. In 1993, Darren auditioned for the role of lead singer for the Australian band, Red Edge, and was later given the opportunity to fulfill the role. In 1994, Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones left Red Edge to form a duo called Crush.

The name of Crush was later changed to Savage Garden after the duo found out another band in the UK had already registered the name.

Kirsten Dunst and Hayes are in one of the carriages, but are not known to each other, the lights go out and Hayes goes daydreaming about Dunst.

At the end of the video the band can be seeing playing in the carriage and the subway.
