Benchley was the recipient of a Best Short Subject Academy Award for the 1935 comic documentary 'How To Sleep' (it was supposed to be a serious attempt at a sleep study financed by the Simmons Mattress Company. They didn't get the joke). Hawn, mother of actors Oliver and Kate Hudson, won her Best Supporting Actress Oscar for 'Cactus Flower' in 1969.

Guerrero was the son of one of the founding fathers of lucha libre wrestling, 'Gory' Guerrero, and the brother of wrestlers Mando, Hector and Chavo. He excelled in most of the areas he wrestled, culminating with his winning the WWE Championship in February of 2004. Sadly, Eddie died November 13, 2005 at the age of 38 (Guevara was 39 at the time of his death).

The long-time 'Queen of the Blues', Bessie Smith made her only foray into film in a one-reeler based on W. C. Handy's 'St. Louis Blues' in 1929. She died from injuries in the accident on a highway between Memphis, Tennessee and Clarksdale, Mississippi. A memorial was built to her years later. A former maid put up some of the money, the rest was donated by rock legend Janis Joplin.
