Answer: Rihanna

Rihanna was born Robyn Rihanna Fenty in Barbados in 1988. She released her debut studio album, 'Music of the Sun', aged just 17 in 2005. Her first US #1 single, 'S O S', came from her second album, released the following year. The alternatives were all born in 1992... English actor Freddie Highmore, then 13, played Charlie Bucket in the 2005 remake of Roald Dahl's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. Los Angeles native Emily Osment co-starred as Lilly Truscott in the Disney TV series 'Hannah Montana' and the subsequent 2009 film. Born in Austin, Texas in 1979, Drew Brees played his college football for the Purdue Boilermakers. He was drafter in 2001 by the San Diego Chargers and played for them until moving to New Orleans in 2006. He led the Saints to victory over the Colts in Superbowl XLIV, picking up the MVP award in the process. The alternatives were all born in 1984...

After joining West Ham United in 2006, Argentine soccer star Carlos Tévez became one of the most sought-after goalscorers in English soccer. Subsequent spells with Manchester United and Manchester City only enhanced his reputation. German golfer Martin Kaymer won the 2010 PGA Championship after posting an 11-under total for 72 holes and then winning the sudden death playoff against Bubba Watson on the third extra hole.

English actor/writer/comedian Hugh Laurie was born in 1959. He appeared alongside Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson, Ben Elton and Mel Smith in a 1984 episode of 'The Young Ones' and later starred in the 'Blackadder' series, 'A Bit of Fry & Laurie' and 'Jeeves & Wooster'.

It was in 2004 that he became a superstar, though, when he first appeared as the inimitable Dr Gregory House in 'House'. The alternatives were all born in 1964... Courteney Cox was a regular in 'Misfits of Science' and 'Family Ties' in the 1980s, but reached super stardom as Monica Geller in 'Friends', who she played from 1994 until 2004. Illinois native Calista Flockhart found fame playing the Boston-based lawyer Ally McBeal in the comedy-drama of the same between 1997 and 2002. Teri Hatcher made periodic appearances in 'MacGyver' in the 1980s but it was as Lois Lane in 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' that she first found fame. President Lyndon Baines Johnson was born in Stonewall, Texas in 1908. He was first elected as a Texas Congressman in 1937 and became a US Senator in 1949. elected as J.F. Kennedy's Vice-President in 1960, Johnson took over as President when JFK was assassinated in November 1963. He was re-elected in 1964 and served until succeeded by Richard Nixon in January 1969. He 1973 aged 64.
The alternatives were all born in 1916... François Mitterrand was the 4th President of the Fifth French Republic, holding office from 1981 until 1995. He died in 1996 aged 79. A British MP from 1950 until 2001, Ted Heath led the Conservative Party for 10 years, including four as British Prime Minister, from 1970-74. He died in 2005 aged 89. Harold Wilson, later Baron Wilson of Rievaulx, was British Prime Minister either side of Heath, serving from 1964-70 and again from 1974-76. He died in 1995 aged 79.

Still widely read by children today, Enid Blyton was born in London in 1897. She created 'Noddy' for early readers and 'The Famous Five' and 'The Secret Seven' for older children. Her literary output is estimated at around 800 books in a 40-year writing career.

She died in 1968 aged 71. The alternatives were all born in 1907... Anglo-American poet Wystan Hugh Alden was born in York, England, and is widely regarded as one of the foremost writers of the 20th Century. He died in Vienna, Austria in 1973 aged 66. Pennsylvania native James Michener wrote more than 40 books, many of them epic sagas telling the stories of specific regions.

He won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1948 for his 'Tales of the South Pacific'. He died in 1997 aged 90. Daphne du Maurier, later Lady Browning, was born in London.

Her works include 'Rebecca', 'Jamaica Inn' and 'The Birds', all later films directed by Alfred Hitchcock. She died in 1989 aged 81.
