Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

For the first 300 years of its existence, the Christian church was a persecuted underground movement. In 312 CE, Emperor Constantine had a vision that Christ would help him win a great battle. Soon after, Christian monotheism became the official religion of Rome.

After years in the shadows, in 325 CE the leaders of the Christian Church were called to the great Council of Nicaea to plot the future of the religion. Constantine had a strong presence in the meeting and took an active role in helping define the Catholic religion.

The Nicene Creed emerged from this council to be the proclamation of faith for all Christians. It outlined what Christians were to believe and anything outside this belief became heretical. Much of the Creed outlines what God is and how Jesus Christ became human and died for the church. From the Creed, a believer sees clearly the three parts of the one God, the Trinity.

The Nicene Creed is still professed every Sunday in Catholic Churches around the world and is one of the pillars of the faith.
