Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:
From Isaiah, ESV version.
Isaiah 11:6: The lamb will live with the wolf, and the baby goat will lie down with the leopard, and a small child will lead the calf, the lion, and the fattened calf together. Isaiah describes harmony between lambs and goats, wolves and lambs, and lions and calves. Conflict is to be expected, as anyone who has seen these creatures together in the wild knows. The predator would assault and consume the prey. Therefore, if the message is truly about people and nations, then the lambs, goats, and calves are little, helpless nations, and the wolves, leopards, and lions are predatory empires.
Isaiah 11:8: The child who is nursing will play over the cobra's hole, and the weaned youngster is to reach into the adder's den with his hand and will suffer no harm. Isaiah 11:8 is a powerful and poignant chapter that deals with themes of safety, transition, peace, and reversal. Its portrayal of children enjoying themselves fearlessly in the face of danger creates a striking image of a world free from harm in the future.
Isaiah 34:15; The owl builds her nest and lays her eggs and keeps her eye on her brood.
The passage suggests that this is a location where life is not sustained and that it is a place of ongoing desolation. The reference of vultures congregating with their partners emphasises how bleak and forlorn the area is.
The zebra, kangaroo, gazelle, tiger, and penguin may have been taken in the ark, been on the Earth, but are not mentioned in the Book of Isaiah by name.
