Sean Bean became a director of the club in 2001, however in December 2007, he resigned as director, deciding to go back to the terraces where he felt he 'truly belonged'. In May 2006, Sean bean had 'SUFC', tattooed on his wrist to commemorate the return of Sheffield United to the Premier League.

When filming, his tattoos have to be concealed. Sheffield United Football Club was formed on 22nd March 1889. They beat Derby County 4-1 on 15th April 1899, when they won their first FA Cup Final.

Leeds City Football Club were formed in 1904, but due to alleged illegal payments to players during World War I, the club was disbanded by the Football League in 1919. Leeds United were then formed. The Right Honourable Earl of Harewood was appointed President of the club in 1961.

Rotherham United Football Club were formed in 1925 as a result of the merger of Thornhill United and Rotherham Town. They played at Millmoor until 2008, when they had to relocate to the Don Valley Stadium, as a result of not being able to reach an agreement regarding Millmoor with the owner, Ken Booth.
Their highest home attendance record was on 13th December 1952, when they played Sheffield United with a crowd of 25,170. On 31st January 2007, it was announced that the Chuckle Brothers were to be honorary presidents of the club.

Barnsley Football Club was founded in 1887, and was originally called Barnsley St Peters. Barnsley have won the FA Cup in 1912 when they beat West Bromich Albion 1-0 in a replay. The famous/well-known footballer Tommy Taylor joined Barnsely in 1949. He scored 26 goals in 44 games for the club and in 1953.

He was transferred to Manchester United. In 1957, the Italian football team Internazionale offerred £65,000 to buy him, but this was declined by United manager Matt Busby. Had the transfer taken place, this would have broken the world record transfer fee. Tommy Taylor was sadly killed in the Munich air distaster on 6th February 1958.

Aston Villa Football Club are one of the oldest clubs in England. They were formed in 1874, and in 1887 won their first FA Cup title; when their player Archie Hunter became the first player to score in every round of the FA Cup. They won the FA Cup seven times between 1887 and 1957. Tom Hanks spoke of his affinity to the team during the 2007 premier of his film 'Charlie Wilson's War'.

The year 1889 saw the formation of Brentford Football Club. Their club song is 'Hey Jude', by the Beatles. They were champions of the 2nd Division in the Football League in the 1934-1935 season.

Dan Tana, a famous Hollywood restauranteur, was Chairman of Brentford Football Club between 1972 and 1982. He is a former football player with Red Star Belgrade, who defected from Yugoslavia in 1953 whilst playing at a football match in Belgium. He moved to Hollywood in 1957, where he acted in several films, opening his Italian restaurant in 1964. Dan Tana was also the owner and manager of 'LA Toros' between 1967 and 1969. Football remained a passion and in 1973 he moved to Brentford.

Whilst in Dan Tana's restaurant in 2002, Cameron Diaz was heard to ask how Brentford were doing. When asked if she was a fan, Tana replied, "Why not".
Dan Tana's birthname is Dobrivoje Tanasijevic and he resigned on 24th April 2009 as President of Red Star Belgrade (he regained contact with the club 20 years after defecting), due to the clubs financial difficulties.

Huddersfield Town Football Club were formed in 1908. They achieved a first in 1926 by winning 3 consecutive Division One titles. The 2008-09 season was the clubs centenary. Patrick Stewart, who is also the Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield, purchased 2 additional season tickets in the centenary year to enable students to see live games.

The club, whose home strip is blue and white, had a gold strip made to mark their hundred years in the game.

Leicester City Football Club started life as Leicester Fosse in 1884. They originally played on a field near the city's Fosse Road. Their home for nearly 111 years from 1891 was Gilbert Street, before their move to the Walkers Stadium in 2002.
The team became know as Leicester City in 1919, as the Leicester Fosse team was disbanded due to financial problems following World War I. Gary Linker, Gordon Banks, and Peter Shilton have all played for Leicester City. Reading Football Club was formed in 1871. Their nickname since the 1970s is 'The Royals', due to the club being located in Royal County of Berkshire. The club's original nickname was 'The Biscuitmen' due to Hunter and Palmer, a biscuit company, being one of the town's biggest employers.

The factory closed in 1976, hence the change of nickname. Reading won promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2005-06 season. This was the first time they had been in the top division. Their success was short lived and they were demoted one tier to the Football League Championship at the end of the 2007-08 season.

Sunderland Football Club were formed in 1879. They are nicknamed 'The Black Cats'. In the 2007-08 season, a survey was conducted involving every stadium in the football league. Sunderland fans were dubbed the 'loudest team of the season', the highest volume recorded being 192.2 decibels.

Other famous fans include the author James Herriot and Dave Stewart, the guitarist with the Eurythmics.
