Answer: 1991

Eddie Jordan had previously competed with his team in Formula Three and Formula 3000, then being known at Eddie Jordan Racing.

With Andrea de Cesaris and Bertrand Gachot driving, the new Jordan Grand Prix team made an instant impact in 1991, the bright green cars standing out on the grid and being instantly competitive.

The team scored their first points in Canada, with de Cesaris fourth and Gachot fifth, with the team eventually finishing fifth overall in the Constructors Championship with 13 points. An excellent debut.

Answer: Yamaha

Success in 1991 had not been cheap for Eddie Jordan, and with the Ford he used being relatively expensive, Jordan being ever the wheeler-dealer secured factory Yamaha engines for 1992.

With two new drivers in Stefano Modena and Mauricio Gugelmin, hope was high for another successful season. But it was a disaster. The new Yamaha was slow and unreliable, the new 192 chassis nowhere near as proficient as the 191, and neither driver excelled.

The only hightlight was Modena's sixth place at the Australian Grand Prix. That point would prove priceless, otherwise Jordan Grand Prix may have gone under at the end of 1992.

Answer: Rubens Barrichello and Ivan Capelli

Rubens Barrichello and Ivan Capelli joined the Jordan team in 1993, the Brazilian Barrichello having just finished third in the Formula 3000 Championship in 1992, whlie Capelli had just had a nightmare with Ferrari the previous season.

With new Hart engines to replace Yamaha, there were hopes for improvement but while Barrichello stayed all season, the second seat would see a succession of drivers, with Capelli, Boutsen, Marco Apicella and Emanuele Naspetti all having a crack before Eddie Irvine joined in time for the Japanese Grand Prix, where Jordan would finish fifth (Barrichello) and sixth (Irvine).

Answer: Belgian Grand Prix

It was a real season of ups and downs for Jordan in 1994.

The Brazilian Grand Prix was blighted by Irvine's massive accident and subsequent three race ban, but at the very next race Barrichello earned Jordan's first ever Formula One podium with third place.

The Brazilian would also score a total of five fourth positions during the season, and took the teams first pole position at the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.

Jordan finished fifth overall in the Championship with 28 points.

Answer: Peugeot

While their was stability on the driver front for 1995 with Barrichello and Irvine being retained, the engine department changed again, this time the Hart being replaced by the Peugeot, which had been ditched by McLaren.

The engine did prove powerful at times but still suffered some unreliability. However, Barrichello and Irvine managed to finish a superb second and third at the Canadian Grand Prix, while each driver managed to finish in the points three more times.

Jordan finished sixth overall in the Championship with 21 points.

Answer: Martin Brundle

The experienced Martin Brundle was recruited alongside Barrichello for 1996. While their were no surprise podiums, Jordan were competitive and each driver managed a number of points scoring finishes.

Brundle managed to walk away from a frightening accident at the Australian Grand Prix after his car was launched into the air.

The highlight for Barrichello was qualifying second in front of his home fans at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Jordan finished fifth overall in the Championship on 22 points.

Answer: Belgian Grand Prix

Jordan was all change on the driver front for 1997. Ralf Schumacher was drafted in with Giancarlo Fisichella signing on preseason.

The new Jordan 197 proved to be a very quick car, and the Peugeot was finally fast, powerful and reliable.

Both drivers managed to get on the podium. Schumacher finished third in only his third race in Argentina while Fisichella finished third in Canada, and then a brilliant second behind Michael Schumacher at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Jordan finished fifth overall in the Championship yet again with 33 points.

The Belgian Grand Prix saw many highlights for the Jordan team over the years, and in atrocious wet conditions in 1998, Hill and Schumacher survived the carnage to finish 1-2.

The 1998 season was the teams best since their debut. It took until the German Grand Prix for Jordan to score points, but after that the team were ultra-competitive, and along with the 1-2 in Belgium, Schumacher finished third in Italy while Hill managed four more points scoring drive.

Jordan broke into the 'Big Four' in 1998, finishing fourth overall on 34 points.

It was primarily thanks to the brilliant driving of Heinz-Harald Frentzen that Jordan could have won a World Championship. The German driver, having suffered two miserable seasons at Williams, was recruited and immediately repaid the team with a second and third at the first two races.

At the French Grand Prix, Frentzen used superior tactics to outlast his opponents. Superior consistency, along with another great win in Italy, set Frentzen up as a potential title contender.

But a heartbreaking retirement at the European Grand Prix, where he took pole and led the race, stopped any real hope of a title, but he finished third overall in the Drivers Championship on 54 points.

Hill contributed seven points in a poor final season with Jordan, finishing third overall on 61 points.

Although the 2000 season was nowhere near as competitive for Jordan, the team still managed to score two podiums with Frentzen, at the Brazilian and United States Grand Prix.

Jarno Trulli had replaced Damon Hill and although the Italian was brilliant in qualifying, his race pace was something to be desired at times and he scored on six points.

Jordan dropped down to finish sixth overall in the Championship on 17 points.

While Trulli remained at Jordan all season in 2001, and scored a number of points scoring finishes, the second seat was a real merry-go-round.

Frentzen lasted 10 races until he was sacked after the French Grand Prix. Ricardo Zonta raced at the Canadian and German Grand Prix for the team, while Jean Alesi was drafted in for the final five races of the season, after the Frenchman had left Prost.

The 2001 season was only marginally better for the squad, finishing fifth overall with 19 points. There were no podiums.

With Formula One getting ever more competitive, and the cars more reliable, the likes of Jordan Grand Prix were starting to be left behind.

Fisichella rejoined the team after time at Benetton and newcomer Takumo Sato was drafted in, primarily by Eddie Jordan to keep the works Honda engines.

But the season was a struggle with funds lower than previous seasons. Fisichella managed a trio of fifth places in Austria, Monaco and Canada, with a sixth later on in Hungary, while Sato only managed on fifth in Japan.

The team only managed nine points but still finished sixth overall in the Championship.

Sadly, Jordan were continuing to fall down the grid in 2003 but thanks to luck and good fortune, Fisichella managed to take a brilliant first career victory in Brazil, using the tricky wet conditions to just pip Kimi Raikkonen to the flag.

But other than that result, the season was basically barren for the team, with Fisichella only managing one more points finish, while team-mate Ralph Firman finished 8th for one point in Spain (the top eight were now eligible for points in 2003.)

Jordan finished ninth overall in the Championship on 13 points.

For the first time in the team's history, Jordan failed to score a top-six finish in the 2004 season. New recruit Nick Heidfeld managed only a seventh and eighth, while Timo Glock managed a solitary seventh.

The new car was essentially uncompetitive and unreliable, and there was little the talented Heidfeld could do with the car. Giorgio Pantano was team-mate for most of the season, primarily for sponsorship reasons.

Jordan again finished ninth overall in the Championship but managed only five points.

Midland Group purchased the Jordan Grand Prix team from Eddie Jordan prior to start of the Grand Prix season, but the Jordan name was retained by Midland until the end of the season.

Tiago Monteiro and Narain Karthikeyan were hired to drive the cars, and Toyota engines were sourced after Cosworth had pulled out of Formula One.

The season was without result, except for a fortuitous third and fourth place at the USGP, but this was only after all cars bar six had withdrawn due to safety issues.

The final point for Jordan was scored by Monteiro at the Belgian Grand Prix.

The final race for Jordan Grand Prix was at the 2005 Chinese Grand Prix. Monteiro finished 11th.

In their 15th and final season, Jordan finished ninth overall in the Championship on 12 points.
