Folau's main reason for signing with the Broncos was so that he could be closer to his family who live in Queensland. On his debut for the club, he scored his first try for his new club. In 2008, during his time with Melbourne, he received such accolades as Dally M Rookie of the Year in 2007, and Dally M Centre of the Year in 2008.

Michael Weyman was never considered good enough to be considered for State of Origin, that is until his move to the Dragons where Wayne Bennett brought out the best in him. During his time at Canberra, he got a string of injuries and at one point considered retiring from the game.
