Answer: Andres Galarraga

Andres Galarraga started his MLB career with the Montreal Expos in 1985. He moved around to various clubs before playing his last game as an Anaheim Angel in 2004. Even though he was a big man, he was an extremely quick first baseman, thus nicknamed "The Big Cat".

In 2000, he won the National League Comeback Player of the Year Award after sitting out the entire 1999 season for cancer treatment.

After starting 2008 off with multiple wins, Tiger sat out for two months after his first knee surgery of the year in April. He came back in time for the US Open in June. He won a grueling five days of golf only to announce he had to sit out the rest of the 2008 season due to a stress fracture and the need for ACL reconstruction.

A first round draft pick out of Oklahoma State University, Heisman Trophy Winner Barry Sanders played for the Lions 1989-1998. He ran for over 1000 yards in each of his ten seasons. In addition, he was elected to ten Pro Bowls.

Answer: Memphis Tigers

The Memphis Tigers lost Derrick Rose after just one year. Rose was a point guard for the Tigers and was a key part in the 2007-2008 team's success. The Memphis Tigers made it to the NCAA Championship Game only to be defeated by the Kansas Jayhawks. Rose was the first overall pick of the draft by the Chicago Bulls.

Washington State University is the home of the cougars. In 1890 the school was established in Pullman Washington and is considered a major research institution. They are a member of the Pacific-10 Conference.

Although 1995 was the first year in the NFL for both the Panthers and the Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals had the first overall pick. They chose running back Ki-Jana Carter out of Penn State. Both Carolina and Jacksonville received two picks in the first round.

Hailing from Narrows, Georgia, Ty Cobb played with the Tigers 1905-1926 then the Philadelphia Athletics 1927-1928. He is considered by many to be one of the best baseball players of all time but certainly one of the greatest from the pre-modern era. He was elected to the 1936 Hall of Fame.

The Charlotee Bobcats were an expansion team that started in 2004. Charlotte had previously had a team, the Hornets, that was founded in 1985 until they relocated to New Orleans in 2002 when stadium plans didn't suit the Hornets' ownership. In 2006 Michael Jordan became a major shareholder in the new Charlotte team.

Answer: Lance Berkman

Lance Berkman has had the nickname "The Big Puma" since before the 2006 season. He picked the nickname himself during a radio interview. He chose it because, like the puma, he was sleek, fierce, powerful but quick. He made it to the second round of the Home Run Derby.

Although Josh Hamilton set a record for the most home runs (28) in the first round, he lost to Justin Morneau in the final round.

Rupp led the team to NCAA Championships in 1948, 1949, 1951 and 1958. Joe B Hall was coach for the 1978 win. Pitino won in 1996 and Smith in 1998. Rupp coached the team from 1930-1972. He was 70 years old when he quit coaching the team. At that time, university employees in Kentucky had a mandatory retirement age of 70. Home games are played in Lexington's Rupp Arena.
