Jamey Farrell overheard this and went to the restroom to send a message to Ira Gaines, and Almeida apprehended her there. After being confronted by Almeida and Nina Myers, she confessed that she had helped someone tap into the security system and was providing him information on Jack Bauer and the keycard.

The assassin who was impersonating photographer Martin Belkin met Jack Bauer at the power plant where Senator David Palmer was having his breakfast rally. Belkin had Bauer assemble a rifle so that Bauer's fingerprints were on it. Ira Gaines then told Bauer to go stand next to Belkin and that after Palmer was shot, Belkin would give Bauer the gun.

However, before the shooting, Bauer was spotted by a Secret Service agent, and when the agent approached him, Bauer grabbed the agent's gun which caused the other agents to get Palmer out of the area.
