Officer Garrity recognizes Aidan at this party as someone who looks familiar, though he doesn't figure out until later how he actually knows Aidan. Tony DiPaulo is the name of the ghost that Sally befriends later in the episode. Vincent Leclerc is the actor who plays Marcus, and Paul Hopkins is the actor who portrays Officer Garrity.

Sally is talking to Aidan in the bathroom as he brushes his teeth. She asks about vampires and sunlight, thinking they should explode when they go outside. Aidan makes a face and Sally says "Vampires and throw-up scared the crap out of me as a kid."

Bishop orders tea in the cafeteria from the counter girl. This counter girl becomes important later on. Aidan, sitting at a cafeteria table, accuses Bishop of compelling the girl into giving him a free drink.

Sally asks Tony how he knows Aidan, and Tony replies that he died in the ER. This is just before Tony teaches Sally something she's been longing to know how to do for months, leave the house.

Sally and Tony are talking about leaving the house, and Sally says that every time she tries to leave she gets caught up and can't step outside. Tony tells her that walking is for the living, and ghosts have a better way of moving around the world. Sally and Tony join hands and disappear from the living room. They then reappear in the bathroom where they first met each other.

Garrity pulls Aidan off the sidewalk into a dark alley, where there is a short scuffle. Garrity shoves Aidan into the wall and onto exposed rebar, which pierces Aidan through the abdomen. Aidan scares Garrity off with his black eyes and fangs.

Garrity told Aidan in the bar, that the man who killed his father when he was a little boy had the name "Celine" tattooed on his chest. After shoving Aidan into the rebar in the alley, Garrity pulls Aidan's shirt aside to reveal a tattoo on the left side of Aidan's chest. It is one word: "Celine", written in beautiful script.

Aidan has gotten into the habit of stealing blood bags from the small blood bank at the hospital. He got the job at the hospital partially for this purpose, so that he would not have to feed off of live humans. He occasionally falls off the wagon, which is how he ends up killing Rebecca and drinking live at blood dens. Aidan explains to Sally during the course of the season, that he has been trying to go "clean" for decades, only occasionally slipping up and drinking live blood.

Sally's tombstone reads "MALIK Sally 1986 -- 2010" It also has flowers engraved in it. Sally tells Tony that she never "liked the idea of taking up space" but now that she's dead she "can see the appeal". She says it's a place "where people can find you".

Tony tells Sally that usually, when he meets a ghost they don't really have a grasp on the fact that they're dead, so he shows them their grave. After this, usually, their door appears and they go through it. Sally, at this point doesn't know what the "door" is, so Tony replies with, "Yeah, the portal that takes you beyond, whatever.

It pops up when it's time for you to mosey. Custom made, just for you."

Answer: Vampires must be invited across the threshold.

When Bishop arrives at Officer Garrity's home, he is stuck outside on the stoop. He asks, "May I come in?" and when Garrity replies, "Yeah, sure", Bishop steps over the threshold into the house. This is exaggerated in the show (and appears also in later episodes) as the camera pans down to Bishop's feet as he steps across the threshold, and there is a sound as if some magic barrier has just been removed.

From the first episode it is known that vampires do in fact have reflections. From the second episode it is known that vampires are incredibly strong and fast. From the scene in the bathroom at the beginning of this third episode it is known that vampires are sensitive to light. Process of elimination would leave "invited across the threshold" as the only aspect left unknown up to this point.

Josh and Jesse are out walking on watch. Jesse tells Josh that he got an interview at Suffolk County as a resident physician. Josh smells the air and notices "paint". He chases down the culprit, and pins him to the ground. While holding him down, Josh growls. He strangles the man unconscious, which freaks Jesse out.

Answer: Erase specific memories

Aidan attempts to remove a memory from Garrity's mind, after saving him from Bishop and Marcus's attempted murder. When confronted by Bishop after the fact, Aidan learns that his attempt at altering Garrity's mind drove Garrity crazy and he killed himself. Bishop had previously warned Aidan about an attempt at removing a single memory, but Aidan ignored him, clearly. Bishop is not to be trusted however, and though it is only speculation, it is likely that Bishop had Garrity killed and only told Aidan that it was a suicide. Bishop, later in the season, is proven to not be entirely trustworthy, specifically in the case of Bernie.

Answer: Ghosts can touch people.

Tony tells Sally that ghosts can touch people who are "open" to it. He says he'd learned it the night before, when he went to visit Debbie Rinaldi, the love of his life, for closure. He found out that she was happy, after 23 years of him being gone. Just before he goes through his door, he tells Sally he touched Debbie's hand. Sally then goes to check up on Danny, to touch HIS hand.
