Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This man lost his son and the love of his life after becoming a vampire during the American Revolution. In the 21st century, he worked as a nurse.

Answer: Aidan Waite

By the time the audience was introduced to the "25 year old" Aidan, he was in his late 250s. Aidan was a soldier in the American Revolution who was turned into a vampire by a man named James Bishop. He served as Bishop's right-hand man for centuries before breaking off on his own and putting his vampire family behind him. Aidan's character went through a lot on his journey during the show, from being a young soldier and losing his family, to becoming a skilled killer, to trying to lead a normal life with not-so-normal friends. He got his "happily ever after" at the end of the show, finally regaining his humanity, before passing into the afterlife with the woman he loved.

The character of the vampire Aidan on the US version of the show was named in honor of Aidan Turner, the original vampire, Mitchell, in the UK's "Being Human".
2. One fateful camping trip turned this young man from Ithaca into a monstrous werewolf, forcing him to give up medical school.

Answer: Josh Levison

After Josh and his best friend were attacked by a werewolf in the woods, Josh gave up on medical school, broke off his engagement to his then-fiancé, Julia, and moved away from his family so that he could protect them from his curse. Josh spent the majority of the show trying to get rid of his wolf, and at one point actually succeeded, only to be turned into a werewolf again by a purebred.

It took a long time for him to finally embrace his wolf, but Josh did get his own happy ending. In the end, he and his werewolf wife, Nora, started their very own pack and had two baby wolves of their own, who they named Aidan and Sally after their friends.
3. Killed by her fiancé, this young woman haunted the new tenants of her home as a ghost. She also spent some time as a witch, zombie, and werewolf.

Answer: Sally Malik

Poor Sally died too young, shoved down the stairs in her new home by the man she loved. She spent the first few months of her ghostly afterlife haunting her home, depressed that no one could see or hear her, and unable to cross the threshold and walk out through the front door. To her surprise, one day Aidan and Josh moved in, hoping to start a new "normal" life by trying to act more human.

The trio quickly became friends and Sally finally found her confidence (good thing Aidan had so much previous experience with ghosts and knew how to help). Sally went through a lot of changes in her afterlife, from ghost, to zombie, to witch, and even traveled through time and into different dimensions.

In the end, she got what every ghost always wanted: peace.
4. This woman just wanted to be a nurse, but had her life turned upside down when her boyfriend accidentally turned her into a werewolf. She ended up embracing her wild side and gave birth to a couple werebabies of her own.

Answer: Nora Sergeant

Nora Sergeant was a normal, everyday human who worked as a nurse at the same hospital in Boston where Josh and Aidan worked. After a few awkward exchanges, and threats about reporting Josh's borderline-sexual harassment behavior to Human Resources, Nora and Josh had a one-night stand that resulted in Nora becoming pregnant.

Then one night, after following Josh into the hospital basement (that he used on the full moon to change into a werewolf), Nora was accidentally scratched. She first transformed into a wolf on the next full moon, and never looked back. Nora and Josh had a long on-again, off-again relationship that spanned years, as the two both came together and grew apart because of their werewolf-selves. Happily for them, they did eventually end up together.
5. This poor young boy spent his life living in a bubble and his one wish was to become a vampire so that he could live forever. Too bad his change went horribly wrong...

Answer: Kenny Fisher

Kenny first appeared on Season 3 of "Being Human" as a patient at Suffolk County Hospital whose nonexistent immune system meant that he had to stay in complete seclusion for his entire life. After the swine flu starting killing all the vampires, the only surefire way Aidan knew to ensure he consumed only "clean" blood was to take it from Kenny (as a nurse he took it the usual way instead of sucking it out of Kenny). An avid horror movie fan, Kenny became suspicious of Aidan's behavior and his constant visits and started testing him to prove that Aidan was a vampire. Aidan final gave in and told Kenny the truth, which prompted Kenny to ask Aidan to turn him into a vampire.

After a lot of pressing, Aidan agreed, and attempted to turn Kenny. Unfortunately for Kenny, Aidan's previous experience drinking werewolf blood (he was desperate and Josh was the only one available) meant that Kenny ended up as a hybrid vampire, with a deformed appearance.

He did, however, develop the ability to mask his true form and return his outward appearance to "normal". Kenny was eventually killed when Aidan stabbed him with a wooden stake through his heart.
6. Life and afterlife are hard when you're the head of a family of vampires. This vampire lost control of Boston after turning people of power and influence into vampires to create his own private army.

Answer: James Bishop

For a very long time, James Bishop ruled over the Boston Vampires as head of the family, after inheriting the role from his vampire father, or "maker", Carlo. To cover up for the activities of his family, Bishop joined the Boston police department as a detective.

He used his abilities to affect peoples' memories to influence those he worked with in order to keep the vampires out of the clutches of the police. He also ran a funeral parlor. After amassing an unapproved army of vampires in the hopes of coming out of hiding and once again living free as a vampire in the world, Bishop and Aidan had a big fight that ended with Aidan beheading Bishop with razor wire.

As Bishop's "heir", Aidan then inherited the responsibility of looking after Boston.

After his death, Bishop appeared in several flashbacks of Aidan's earlier life and in visions Aidan had when he was drunk on blood.
7. This medic almost lost his life during World War I but was saved from death by one of the most ruthless vampires of that time. He eventually succumbed to swine flu.

Answer: Henry Durham

Henry Durham was Aidan's first vampire son. The two met during World War I when Aidan was brought into Henry's medic tent after being shot numerous times. They grew closer as Aidan recovered in the camp, what everyone saw as a miracle. When a fellow patient attempted to kill Aidan after seeing him drink blood, and accidentally stabbed Henry instead, Aidan turned Henry into a vampire to save his life and then murdered everyone else at the aid station.

The two of them lived side by side for a decade or so until Henry was forced to leave following an extremely bloody incident in a hotel.

Henry returned to Boston after Bishop's death and rejoined the family, after paying his pound of flesh for his sins (literally). He eventually died after drinking blood from someone infected with swine flu.
8. When in need of a bit of impractical magic to bring someone back from the dead, this witch is who you'd call. She was hanged in Salem long ago and more recently moonlighted as a soup kitchen chef.

Answer: Donna Gilchrist

The first time audiences saw Donna, she was working in a soup kitchen. Nora and Josh went to her for help in bringing Sally back from Limbo (where she ended up after tearing her ghost body apart in an act called "shredding"). Donna, as a witch, possessed the power to bring Sally back from Limbo, but it required a ritual that involved spreading the blood of someone that Josh or Nora killed (while in human form) on the physical remains of Sally's body.

As it turned out, Josh had previously murdered the man who had turned him into a werewolf, so he and Nora dug up that man's body to retrieve his heart, and then went grave-robbing to get Sally's bones. Donna's spell succeeded in bringing Sally back to life, but also turned Sally into a flesh-eating zombie.

After later confrontations between Donna and Sally, and a lot of time jumping, Sally eventually ended up with Donna's witchy powers and Donna ended up in Purgatory.
9. This ghost killed himself in high school and spent his afterlife haunting the people who had tormented him while he was in school. He was resurrected as a zombie but got a little too hungry and devoured his parents.

Answer: Stevie Atkins

Stevie was an old high school classmate of Sally's who swallowed a bunch of pills as a teenager, completing suicide. Stevie and Sally reconnected at their 10-year high school reunion and started to hang out as ghost friends. Sally learned how to possess humans from Stevie and how to shred other ghosts' souls, which she later found out would send the souls into Limbo.

When Donna, Nora, and Josh brought her back to life, Sally brought Stevie (whom she had previously shredded) and another ghost friend of theirs back with her. Stevie unfortunately started to crave human flesh, the same as Sally, and devoured his family's pet and then his parents. Seeing no other way out, and with the desire to eat flesh growing stronger every day, Stevie hanged himself in his parents' garage, turning back into a ghost once more.

His soul was eventually devoured by Donna, who fed off of the "bodies" of ghosts to keep herself young.
10. A unique creature all her own, this little girl was murdered as a child and then found decades later in a hidden room. Her evil soul fed off the killing that happened in her house and she became the house personified.

Answer: Ramona Benson

Ramona only appeared in the final, fourth season of "Being Human". Sally first came across Ramona during one of her time-jumps, where she saw Ramona being tortured and sacrificed on a bed. The room where Sally had seen Ramona was apparently hidden away in the house Sally shared with Josh and Aidan (and eventually Nora).

After Sally returned to the present, Ramona's room was discovered, and the girl came face-to-face with her "roommates" for the first time. The abilities that Ramona possessed, and her connection to the house, made her one of the most powerful beings encountered on the show.

She had thrived on all of the killing, both accidental and intentional, that occurred in the house since Sally was first pushed down the stairs, and did everything she could in an attempt to destroy the lives of everyone who lived there.

She died, once and for all, in a fire that burned down the house on the same day that Aidan and Sally finally passed on.
